Warrington VS Lara II

Post by bobcatbox »

Despite taking a shellacking, Josh Warrington is exercising his rematch clause to fight Mauricio Lara again. https://www.badlefthook.com/2021/2/18/2 ... -news-2021

He certainly won’t overlook Lara again. The matchup seems all wrong for him. Warrington lacks serious power, and Lara is a banger. Could be a huge mistake.

Side note, will there be a belt on the line? A real shame Lara can’t call himself champ after taking down undefeated very recent titleholder Warrington like that. Even bigger shame if he cant call himself champ after doing it again.

Well, Warrington's gameplan sucked. He decided to trade from the start. He was successful in it, but just Lara appeared to be a tough and hard-hitting mofo, so he outfought Warrington. Maybe Warrington will be able to box safe and win in the rematch, if he tries.

in Warrington's defence, Lara was looking pretty banged up.himself and looked like tipping over too. If Josh can avoid being on the end of a big one, he could win. Kind of like anyone against Wilder. but also not.

Very good chance you're correct on this. Also doesn't Warrington have Paulie Malignaggi like non-power? Basically meaning he'll have to fight damn near perfect at the top level. Probably not gonna go well for him.

Lara had very poor defense in the middle rounds of the fight. Only looked somewhat sharp through the first couple rounds. Basically came forward and swapped shots with Warrington after that once he realized he has much superior power. Not afraid to take whatever JW through his way. And he took a lot of it. Warrington handled him when he was coming forward in round one. Lara not as good off the back foot. Once he took over as the aggressor Warrington couldn’t do anything about it except swap shots and get rocked. Not enough speed to outrun Lara who didn’t care if he ate a combo to get his left hook in.
