Why is the ref telling him to calm down, is he worried he’s going to incite the crowd ?

Amazed this is such a surprise to the Sky team.

Kelly looked like AIDS against the American on the AJ undercard at MSG.

Ava has stopped Legarraga twice in the last few years.

Another really good main event. Credit to Matchroom for the shows in the last 2 weeks. Both have had some class fights.

Disappointed in Kelly. Lots of classy stuff but too much posturing and he throws loads in to his shots which would have been part of the reason he was tired.

ava also tightened his work up a bit and focused more on short inside shots and body work after finding it hard to hit kellys head from outside earlier on

For what it's worth I thought the fight was eevn going into the 6th. Commentators on dazn were ignoring all of David's work

That’s the strange thing for me. Team Kelly surely knew he had to do 12 hard rounds to win on points and he unraveled in less than 6.

The wheels just came right off Kelly there, he looked superb first couple rounds, too quick and sharp for Avanesyan who kept walking onto counters, got wobbled a bit from a left hook in the 2nd, it looked like maybe Kelly was starting to fight his best fight but Avanesyan kept pressuring, making Kelly look uncomfortable, the cuts seemed to bother him, Avanesyan wasn't always landing clean but he was a pest and by the 5th he was on top of Kelly, still a shock to see Kelly go down, rocked from a right then looked like he chose to take a count after getting nailed with another, it was a left hook from Avanesyan that buckled his legs for the finish, the follow up was irrelevant, Kelly was down and done, good call to throw towel in, Kelly was spent

It's gotta be the weight.
An elite athlete shouldn't look that gaunt @ the WI - trying to be a weight division bigger (he was).
@ the cost of turning in to David Price. :stop:

Just as in the draw against Ray Robinson, Kelly started brilliant and sharp at long range but by round 5 was forced to fight inside as he tired and his reflexes slowed. This time it was Ava there ready to pounce, and as the Lejarraga fight showed, he's a lethal finisher when his man's hurt.
