This is a bad style matchup for him. He was troubled by guys who were swift footed, and quick. Locche was both of those things, and a defensive genius. It'd be a difficult night for Arguello.

Truth. Locche would make Arguello look bad, win a comfortable UD

He was a much better real fighter than a "Mythical Fighter". Some guys are like that. On the other hand, some are better Mythical Fighters than they were in real life.

Not being able to best Loche is no knock on any fighter in this weigh class. They both were great....I think Loche would be more likely to win......but they would both be standing at fights end. And both reputations would be enhanced by the experience. Great fight, close outcome.....I'd bet on Loche if the odds were even.

Truth. Both are great fighters. Arguello was one of my favorite fighters but against Locche he would be fighting over his prime weight vs an incredibly skilled and difficult fighter who was one of the best ever at 140 and a terrible matchup for him. Locche was a more experienced Wilfredo Benitez at 140. Benitez also would be a terrible matchup for Arguello at 140

Arguello could do it... He deserves at least 1 vote on this thread.

I agree, locche was great defensively but he wasn't very active. Arguello could slice him up. Tough call. Likely a lame fight.
