Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
IMHO he is flawless and he can beat all young prospects Yoka, Ajagba, Hargovic inclding Joyce and Magomodev ... He is absoulte beast at 249 LBS at age 21, looks solid as hell and faster than Manny Paciauo
Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
Faster than Pacquiao...
Way too early to tell. He looks good but he doesn't have a top 50 win and didn't beat anyone of note as an amateur either.

Looks like he's found another knob to suck on
I'm not going to be drawn on how far I think Anderson is going to get, but I do like what I see. I like the way he moves, he can instantly switch direction boxing comfortably on the front or backfoot, his style shows a natural fluidity, and he strikes me as having genuine belief in his ability. I love his attitude in wanting to face other prospects and people who have credible records. Of course many talk the talk but for a youngster of 21 his resume has some respectable wins on it already.
Negatives? It seems to me he doesn't move his head very much and doesn't seem to tuck his chin in. Leaving his head up there as a target could be inviting disaster, but there is loads of time to iron-out these flaws. If Michael Polite-Coffie were ten years younger there might be real competition, but from where I'm sitting, Jared is the man most likely to restore the USA to the top of the heavyweight pile. Time will tell.

Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
Way to early to say, and you would have to have a good knowledge on 15-23 Year old amatures to have any real idea. But of the current pro lot, in 8 or 9 years, top dogs would likely be DDD, Anderson, and justice huni... (still predicting ahead 8 or 9 years is outragouse.)
Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
He's still a long way off from being anywhere near a title.
Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
True but it's fun trying to predict who has the potential for future success.
I have a good record but I have to concede that my picks have not usually been out of leftfield, so I can't lay claim to any great insight, as much as I might like to think I know a talent when I see one.

Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
He's had only two real tests (for the level he's at). Hernandez and Ibeh, neither of which were of any real threat. Like a lot of prospects, we'll know more when he's in a real war; faces adversity, etc.
That said, he is ahead of schedule since watching him in the ams. I'm really impressed, but win a title? I have no idea.

Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
I was very impressed with his performance against Ibeh who is not a fighter that’s easy to look good against. He even put him away when he had little to no incentive to keep pressing the fight. He’s shown good skill and great power albeit against minimal opposition. They’re moving him up nicely.
Big guy with good personality. American heavy. I’m rooting for him! Haters gonna hate.

@Lackeos: Unless he's permanently drunk that's just boxtune being boxtune. He does the valuable job of providing the entertainment around here. He expresses himself with utter conviction and is rarely right about anything. This forum needs a jip, an asdfjkl or whatever TF he called himself, there have been others. Boxtune is the latest to carry on that proud tradition. Long may he reign

I’m a fan of manly trunks myself, but a champ’s gotta have swag. I do appreciate his all pink attire. Pinklon Thomas would be proud. I saw some ribbons, so I’m assuming it was to raise awareness? All the better that he got a highlight reel KO.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑14 Feb 2021, 22:33 im on the jah train, though i do wish he'd ditch those dresses fights in lol
Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
American heavyweights have been very weak the last 20 years so I don't have much optimism.

This guy is the newest fraud on the block. Has fraud written all over him. If this guy is ever gonna catch a title then that says more about the sorry state of the sport than it does about this dude.

Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
Jared Anderson won’t win a meaningful heavyweight world heavyweight title.
Less than two years ago he weighed 200lbs (a weight he’d competed at since 2016). And yet he’s on track to weighing 265lbs this time next year.
And by his own admission, he only wants to weigh 220lbs.
The guy hasn’t got enough discipline.
He’ll inevitably continue beating journeymen opposition and eventually gatekeepers, but he won’t progress beyond that stage unless he gets a new trainer and also addresses his weight gain issues.
For the record, Jared Anderson isn’t fat yet, but he’ll get there soon enough if he keeps gaining weight at the same rate he’s been doing for the last two years.

He's 249 or so last fight, but you say he isn't fat yet. So which one is is? Problematic weight gain when the dude isn't fat (yet).Enlightened-One wrote: ↑20 Feb 2021, 22:09 Jared Anderson won’t win a meaningful heavyweight world heavyweight title.

Once again you have no clue what you're posting about. Kid was 16 years old in 2016. Kid was 18/19 years old 2 years ago. He's 21 now. He'll be over 250 in his prime. "weight gain issues" LMFAO!!! Why don't you just go away? Seriously. Unenlightened one.
Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
Come on man. He’s gained sixteen pounds since turning pro. He was, what, barely 19? If not 18? Consistently in the 240s for three fights in six months. Did you watch the fight? He looked in great shape vs Ibeh. Not fat at all. Moving great. Crisp punches. Not gassed - even got his KO as the clock was running out. And get outta here with the argument that he lacks discipline. What’s that based on? Your math looking at his boxrec page? The dude has been boxing for years. He’s fighting great and getting better.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑20 Feb 2021, 22:09 Jared Anderson won’t win a meaningful heavyweight world heavyweight title.

Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
I agree ... I was shocked Jared showed 249LBs at scale and 21 years old, he looked in much better shape than Daniel doubios who at 238-242LBS looks puffy or bulky, whethere you call that !bobcatbox wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021, 00:51Come on man. • Less than two years ago Jared Anderson weighed 200lbs (a weight he’d competed at for three years, between 2016 and 2019). He wasn't a prepubescent child during this time period!
• Last April, both Jared Anderson and his trainer said they believed they were too heavy (when he weighed 235lbs) and was trying to get down to 220lbs.
• Instead of losing weight, six months later, he actually gained it. And now he’s a 250lb-er.
• If Anderson continues getting heavier, with his weight following its current trajectory, then his lack of discipline will prevent him from entering the ring in peak physical condition.
Jared Anderson and his trainer, Darrie Riley, obviously disagree with your opinion and share my concerns, because they have both admitted to wanting to compete weighing 220lbs rather than 250lbs.
Instead of ridiculing me, why don’t you instead mock Jared Anderson and his trainers’ own words?
Re: Poll: will Jared Anderson win a HW title ?
You’re wrong on two fronts. In the RingTV article you’re referencing, Anderson said he wanted to fight below 235, not 220.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑22 Feb 2021, 04:53Key facts:oogiebe wrote: ↑20 Feb 2021, 22:23He's 249 or so last fight, but you say he isn't fat yet. And in the exact same article his trainer said he does not worry or have to get onto Big Baby about his conditioning, disproving your notion that he lacks discipline.
Again, did you watch the fight and see how good of shape Anderson was actually in?? He looked great. Have you considered that 235 is a long term goal that he’s still very capable of reaching before you wrote him off based on three fights he won by ko?
