There is no such rule.
Generally if a knockdown happens the round is scored 10-8 but there are exceptions.

In the third Forrest went down very early in the round then arguably won the rest of the round which gave him a chance to lose that round 10-9 vs 10-8.
I had that round 10-8 because imo Forrest was badly hurt, it was not a "flash" kd, he obviously recovered well but enough to avoid 10-8 for me.

4th round: I thought Forrest was winning before getting wobbled late in the round which swung it 10-9 to the big man for me.

Imo Forrest won the remaining rounds plus a point deduction leaving my card at 93-93.

Back to the 3rd and 4th rounds: a judge scoring the 3rd 10-9 big guy and the 4th 10-9 Forrest = 95-93.
Doesn't match my scorecard but it's easy to see how the judge had that score.

Last but not least: while not high level boxing it was a fairly fun fight, with real drama wondering if the exhausted big guy would make it to the final bell let's not lose track of that.
obiously a kd doesnt always mean 10-8, but those rounds were about as standard 10-8 kd rounds as they come

id be interested in seeing if this judge has scored an abundance of 10-9 kd rounds in rounds where the dropped guy does remotely well aside from the kd, or if it was unusual even for him

He only needed one kd round at 10-9 to get 95 for Forrest

Looks like yildrum is just trying to go long enough that its not embarrassing. He needs to hurt canelo at some point, otherwise he is getting stopped, but has thrown 1 punch in 2 rounds with the ability to hurt anyone. rest has been pawing and covering.

if he has it 30-25 zhang after 3,

and scores the next 7 for forrest + the deduction, then that's 95-92

if he scores 6 for forrest + 1 for zhang + the deduction, then that's 94-93

so not sure how he's getting 95-93 still with 2 10-8s and a 10-9 in the first 3.....would love to see the card lol

True if he gave the 4th 10-10. but thats a stretch too, zhang won that.

they hardly ever use 10-10s in murica and it would be a stretch for that round, i suppose it could happen , the mystery of this dude's card lol

Yeah, you're right.
Guess I should just stick to my scorecard and let other people solve the judges.

Terrible from yildrim, Callum smith is popping bottles at 5am in the UK right now, because that makes his loss far more respectable.

What a complete waste of time, these Canelo fights are bordering on the ridiculous now.
They'll either make sure the opponent can't win a decision or pick an opponent who won't even try to win.
Big yawn nothing to see here.

It will be fun to see if Eubank Jr. will begin to call himself P4P, as of now...

Hardly like Canelo v BJS is anything to get excited about if the truth is told.
Honestly can you see BJS standing his ground and having it with Canelo ?
We all know the BJS game plan before the fight has started, he'll tap and run and try to win a miracle decision which is almost impossible against Canelo, unless of course you're a higher earner named Floyd Mayweather.
It's a shame because Canelo is a very good boxer I can't take that away from him, but all these Mickey Mouse fights aren't enhancing his reputation whatsoever.

Yildirim looked almost lifeless in there. Landed maybe one, two legitimate punches? He gave a very disappointing performance. Good on Canelo to put it on him and try to finish in the 3rd.

Bum of the month club type of defense. To be expected. Still wanted to see Avni put up a fight.

Bring on BJS. It’ll be a blowout!

Really disappointed in Yildirim. Salt Bae would have put up more of a fight.

We all knew it was a mismatch but it’s another one that’s down to the sanctioning bodies. Canelo made it clear that he wanted to be the first guy to hold all 4 belts so for the WBC to mandate Yildirim and say the fight needed to happen quickly is really frustrating.

Suliaman is a very difficult guy to have respect for.

Just caught up on this. Went exactly as expected. Not sure why people are suggestion Canelo is fighting nobodies though when last time out he hammered the recognised top super middleweight, stepped up to light heavy and battered a solid fighter in Kov and prior to that outpointed Danny Jacobs, a very good fighter in his own right.

This was always going to be a walkover, stay busy, mandatory he just had to get out of the way. This happens when there's loads of governing bodies and belts and they make ridiculous rankings with poor fighters at the top!

People will still bemoan the next opponent, even though Saunders is undefeated, a decent boxer and the holder of the other title Canelo wants to hold. Yet the same folks will also moan that the best avoid the best generally in the sport.

There's no pleasing some people :OhYes:
