I don’t remember this forum mocking Fielding earning a decent payday for his “work” and “effort” or asking for his purse to be withheld.

Sometimes you’re just so utterly overmatched there’s nothing you can do.

Asking for purses to be withheld is extreme because this is a dangerous and potentially fatal sport,, but let's call a spade a spade here, Yildirim effectively pulled himself out by not responding when his trainer said he was giving him one more round, he took one great shot that put him down and about 2 dozen decent shots clipping his head and body for 9 minutes, he threw precisely ONE right hand himself.

We really didn't need to give Yilidirim 2 and a half million dollars to find out he didn't belong in the ring with Canelo, and he didn't even have to take that many punches himself to earn it, again I hesitate to say things like this in such a dangerous sport but he wasn;t hit THAT hard, he wasn;t "out of it", he didn;t want any more, I took a punch now I'll take that check thank you very much

So yeah, not bad for a nights "work"

They say the most dangerous punch is the one you don’t see coming and Yildirim might well have experienced that had he been dismantled any further. I do take your points but on the other hand if he goes out for the 4th and gets an absolute pasting then everyone’s criticising his corner for not pulling him out between rounds.

Indeed and maybe he was genuinely hurt, It's not like he took a dive or anything and I don't blame his trainer one bit if your man isn't responding then he isn't fit to be sent back out to face Alvarez, just was a bit underwhelming is all, Yildrim seemed like after he tried that one right hand and got countered that was pretty much all he had and looked like he didn't much feel like trying anything else

Well he could have thrown more than one single punch before retiring with his 2 and a half million but like I said, he did take a good punch, remember, his trainer was going to give him one more round because he wasn't bothering to throw a bloody punch and he pulled himself out.

Not every over matched opponent is going to have a Liam Smith esque effort in them but give it a go ffs you're officially a millionaire after tonight mate
