Six rounder apparently. Surely Browne takes this, what do you think?

It is the end of the section for the loser.

In the Gallen versus Hunt bout, the heavier, older Hunt staggered Gallen at one point, yet did not press on, and allowed Gallen time to recover and go on to win.

Big Daddy must keep on the offensive and not give Gallen any leeway, as Gallen is very fit and has a substantial jaw.

only way browne should loose is if he turns up in terrrible shape. Gallen will be fit thats a given, so if browns shape was bad enough, and gallen could survive 3 rounds touching him to the body untill brown is so gassed he cant fight at all but thats unlikely. Brown should knock gallen in a round or 2 before he gets tired anyway, fascinated to see what the odds for this end up being...

Browne should win due to his fight experience in MMA, Kickboxing and his superior opposition in professional boxing. But Gallen is so fit and tough. And his boxing ability has improved as he has had about 10 pro fights now. Browne to win but it wouldn’t surprise me to see the upset.

The hype has started at a press conference today, where Gallen jabbed away at Big Daddy and got under Browne’s skin.

Speaking ahead of their April 21 heavyweight contest in Wollongong, Gallen poked fun of Browne’s legacy in Australian boxing and his physical condition less than seven weeks out from their showdown. Gallen also described Browne’s WBA heavyweight world title as a “reserve grade” world title.

Big Daddy was a little peeved with Gallen's verbal diarrhoea and remarked, "I don’t really like what he says most of the time in regards to me,” Browne said. “Calling me a bum and saying he’s got better things to do at the end of the year, it does sort of rub me the wrong way considering I’m the best heavyweight we’ve had in Australia.”

Browne will walk away with a fight purse of $130,000, while Gallen’s purse is significantly higher.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I couldn't agree with that one.

I voted Gallon by decision because Browne is way past it and seems to lack a decent team, preparation or sparring. Gallon has been a golden goose for Rose. He will be better prepared and have a better corner. If the fight goes the distance I know who will be in front on the cards. Anything can happen except for Browne by decision.

Well you probably have me there Gnome. I guess I was just going off the impression that before the Hunt fight Gallon was in Brisbane sparring people like Lepei and Purcell.
Every time I see Browne he seems to be training at home. From different things in the media I got the impression he might not be the favourite in some quarters. He is probably more popular in the UK but I could be wrong. I think having Rose's support is a huge advantage for Gallon.
I got $4.50 on Gallon against Hunt and I might back up again at $2.60.

Boxrec rates him as our best ever.
Is he better than Peter Jackson was in his time or Alex Leapai?
Then there is the + tests that certainly leave a cloud around him as our best ever heavyweight.

He got rocked by an ancient Hopoate, so he better box - he's got little chin left I suspect.

no doubt to me that browne was in on it, the first knockdown he literally hurls himself to the canvas on his own

That was a crock of shit that Browne dished up.

Clearly unfit, Browne was looking more like a 61 year old not a 41 year old. There was a smell about this fight in the build up, and it showed.

I knew it would be a stew when the camera in Browne's dressing room showed him scoffing down a sausage roll while warming up.

Browne remains delusional after the bout, sprouting nonsense like he wishes to continue in the game:
"He hit me with a great shot, you can't fault that from his end and he just swarmed, I didn't have the equilibrium and he capitalised," Browne said.

"[This is] definitely not the last fight [for me], it's been a year-and-a-half since my last fight, I want to stay as active as I can, whether it be someone like a Solomon Haumono, but I do want in the next couple of months to have another fight."
Mate, that is total crap, no promoter with half a brain would sign you on.

the first knockdown he literally launches himself backwards, i get that browne is pants - albeit gallen couldnt even beat a 0-0 rugby player a few fights ago--- but no way is that how guys actually get knocked down lol

of course the punches are real...i have no doubt gallen was going out there and trying his best to beat him. but browne laid down and needs to go to acting school

he was stuffing his face with a sausage roll right before walking out too....seems like a guy really taking it seriousl doesnt it

Didn't look like acting for me. It's just Browne, you know, he always looks like sh!t, even when falls from the punches. :maybe:

In Browne's own words after his ignominious performance, which are surprisingly coherent, "I didn't have the equilibrium and he capitalised"

A long time ago, Jack Dempsey's wife asked Jack why he had lost one bout. Jack simply replied, "Honey, I forgot to duck!"

Browne should have just quoted Jack. In reality he didn't put in the hard yards at training, looked dreadfully unfit, and tanked in record time.

The root cause, and he looked rooted before and after the fight, were all those sausage rolls he gobbled down, waiting the the prelims to finish. And those prelim fighters were all there to fight and all were very, very fit.
