Welterweights: Donald Curry vs Aaron Pryor

Post by elmersalsa »

By 1983, the Cincinnati Hawk decided to retire after he stopped the great Alexis Arguello for the second time. What would have happened if he would have challenged WBA World Welterweight Champion Donald Curry? Who wins?

If curry could make the weight and not be weak I'd go curry all day but the weight drained curry that honeyghan beat would struggle to keep Pryor if him

Curry by 7th round TKO too skilled and big for Aaron to handle.

Great fight. Curry at times at WW stood in front of his opponents a little too much and was willing to trade. At 140 that would have been more difficult vs Pryor but Pryor was essentially a blown-up lightweight and at 147 Curry would eventually take him out, around the 10th

I got to go with a prime Curry of 1984-1985 over Pryor. As mentioned Pryor was a small 140 pounder so moving up to welterweight would not be a recommended practice. Curry should score a mid to late round knockout over the Hawk Pryor.
