I remember there was cheeky little redhead in the 1980s, Danny Porter, who boxed for England and reached an ABA final in the unpaid ranks and boxed for several big titles in the pros.

Wasn't it him who boxed for every title from area to world and lost the lot!

Ball reminds me of a mucky divorcee I badgered over a low wall, outside the old Rooftop Gardens night club as a young lad.

A bit harsh. Did you see her fight with Shannon Courtney?

Wow good knowledge  I think Porter is a level 1 ginger though not sure if he has the required blue eyes

Yeah, Danny was just shy of championship class but he could dig with the left hook. I remember him banging out a Hungarian when representing England in 1985, with the great Laszlo Papp in Hungary's corner. Danny later went pro and was outscored by Mark Goult in a Southern Area title clash in 1990. Sadly, Goult collapsed after the 10-rounder and suffered brain damage.

I remember him once fighting Keith Wallace another good little ginger until it was discovered that he wasn’t overly fond of body punches.
