How do you hang your bag at home?

Post by TheBeast »

For years I have been doing bag outdoors and during winter I'd just stop doing bag work and trade it for hockey. I found that having a bag at home created too much vibration and was afraid I'd damage the structure of the house... The vibrations it created upstairs were unpleasant for other residents of the house...

I'd like to share my discovery with you guys... I tried a first law Spider mount... Something I discovered while I researched my options during this pandemic... I think bag work is extremely good for the body but for the mind too...

Bag racks or stands, or bags on stands limit movement which is not what doing bag is supposed to be... That product really found a way to totally negate vibrations and solves pretty much all the inconvenients of having a bag at home... I think it's def something worth sharing:

I chose simplicity. Rope and a swivel, been up for a whole year now. Admitedly I havent been using it on a daily basis but the rope is super easy to replace and wont harm any of the metal that its attached to.

That's cool that You had a rebar loop in your ceiling. Never seen that before.

My ceiling was a regular ceiling with ceiling Joists every 16 inches and sheetrock over it. This type of bag hanger like the spider mount is made for that... They also have extensions for joists that are space every 24 inches I think.

Btw decathlon is the best place for heavy bags... shopped online for a new one... 100lbs... leather... They have the best price by far... less than 200$...

Yeah tried everything too before finding out about the spider mount... everything on a stand is terrible for a man that strikes with power. Even filled with sand, the century bob you can see in the background kept moving. Same problem as you... I'm in the process of selling it
