Do you not think Tyson’s pr was worth a bit more than £500 worth of posters?

My old man had his last barroom brawl when he was in his 70s, got his lip split wide open when the guy nutted him in the chin.high tower 1 wrote: ↑08 Mar 2021, 03:23Agreed. Those boys don’t change. I’ve known guys hitting 70 who are still game for a fight.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑07 Mar 2021, 18:36 i dunno, there are just some people who no matter what else they have, just cant stand with someone else claiming to be better
some of the most accomplished and whatever people (and in this case it's johns son not actually him) are also the most petty over stuff like that. and in ffact that pettyiness might be part of their success. he did gouge a mans eyes out cuz the other guy wanted to beat him for the car didnt he
i think big mick and really anyone claiming to be better man gets to john, or at least did. havent heard that much of it lately ? maybe he finally got over it
He got his revenge, my old man went reeling back, and the guy came in to finish the job, but the old fella picked up a cast iron bar stool and smashed one of the legs right into his railings and smashed them all out.
His wife was there at the time, she said the guy was half his age, so can't have too much sympathy.
Some people just grow up with a fighting instinct.

A real clever bloke I know, who in his day used to be a bit of a one man riot, told me that you need to stop scrapping before you're 40 cause folk that age normally end up looking bad and making a prick of themselves.
Also to learn how to enjoy yourself without it.
While I never got myself in a lot of bother, between the door and boxing I have had a lot of fights.
I took his advice onboard and just before my 40th I quit the door, moved to a small village in Spain, live the quiet life and have never been happier.

Haha well in my experience these things are unlikely to happen when you don't put yourself in the spotlight!high tower 1 wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 02:44What will you do when the Micky Theo call out videos come your way ?Coco wrote: ↑08 Mar 2021, 18:52 A real clever bloke I know, who in his day used to be a bit of a one man riot, told me that you need to stop scrapping before you're 40 cause folk that age normally end up looking bad and making a prick of themselves.

Personally I would have been comfortable saying at the outset that I'm too old and retired so it's not for me.
Nevertheless I understand that the quiet life isn't for everyone, but for me I'm living the dream and don't have to worry about having any straighteners no more.

I mean this idiot has put up a few posters, with Porky, if John fights him it’s a big news story. Nobody has taken any notice of him until now. “Fury’s ex con dad in organised bare knuckle fight”, doesn’t look good in the build up to the $100m fight.

True, but some would say John has brought this on himself calling out every Tom, Dick or Harry and claiming to be a fighting man and the best over 50.mickey1975 wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 07:27I mean this idiot has put up a few posters, with Porky, if John fights him it’s a big news story. I agree with John keeping his head down. I can’t stand Porky, Sonny Edwards is tormenting him and he’s only around the corner. What kind of desperate need would you need to have to listen to John fury bellowing rubbish all night?mickey1975 wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 11:57Poor John is doing a few grand a night on evening with shows.coneye wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 09:47Why not , after all there sticking u tube stars on ppv ,,, This could be put out has an exhibition with headguards and 16 oz gloves for charity ,, But it won't happen ,, for whatever reason personaly , i think its a two fold reason ,

Re: john fury
Some idiot hero worshippers , will pay huge amounts of money to listen to his garbage , and get there picture took with him , and thats why its so embarassing for him ,, these lick ass wankers listen to his , i'm a fighting man and hardest man in the world over 50 and just line his pockets , this in turn makes him believe his own publicity and i think he actually believes what he's saying .. Then along comes a steroid head bouncer who keeps challenging him , , Johns ass goes at the thought of losing a fight ,, his paydays , and more importantly his ego and view of himself has the over 50 world champ ..jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 16:18What kind of desperate need would you need to have to listen to John fury bellowing rubbish all night?mickey1975 wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 11:57Poor John is doing a few grand a night on evening with shows.coneye wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 09:47

Worked doors , for years and one thing i learnt is the people who bite noses and ears off or gouge out eyes , do so out of fear , there like junk yard dogs , fear fighters , they get scared then desperate , then dangerous , and this Theo fella has put John in a spot where if he takes the fight , thats not gonna be allowed , and if he does resort to biting and gouging ,, he'll end up back in jail , and thats why it won't happen , he's not scared of Theo he's petrified off losing

What does he talk about at these events? I don't understand why anybody would be paying to see him talk
Re: john fury
Sure, the money men behind the scenes would hate it, but a lot of the casual fans would dig it.mickey1975 wrote: ↑09 Mar 2021, 07:28 “Fury’s ex con dad in organised bare knuckle fight”, doesn’t look good in the build up to the $100m fight.
The idea of Fury's old man giving a big meat head a bit of a battering won't exactly harm the cult hero status Fury has built among casual fans in recent years.
That being said I am with a lot of posters on here who say big John should laugh it off and let Tyson do all the fighting from now on.
