how many divisiosn could a world class fighter move up before no longer being top 50

Post by margaret thatcher »

obviously will vary by case, but in general?

take a world class fighter in their normal division, how far up could they go before they cant even usually beat top 50 opponents? like, would tank davis be counted on to beat top 50 middleweights.

talk of canelo beating guys c level hw guys like charr and bryan for their wba title version got me interested, hw will prob be different than most cases though

At a guess: -Top 112s could probably beat top 50 126s moving strait up.
-130s could mabey make 147 top 50 (although that division is deep).
-Top 147s could probably go top 50 at 168, spence and crawford mabey 175..
-top couple of 175s would make it as cruisers struggle at heavy but still beat top 50s based on the babic experiment.

that would be about my range, assuming they have to move up in one jump over a 6 month period. Could be absolutely way off.

Completely depends on the fighter. Every fighter is different - different physicality, different skill set...

Probably non, he also hasn’t Fought at light heavy.
My point is he is a guy that probably could be a light heavyweight and he is having success at lowish (but near top 50) heavyweights. Winters who babic beat is another one who is way to small for heavy but has shown some success there. Those Makes me think the top guys at 175 could probably beat some top 50 heavys.
