Bemavidez: "I’m going to keep calling him[Charlo] out", Let's see if Mall is a bada*s or is gonna quack, quack :))

Post by apollo creed »

"I want to earn the Canelo fight, I feel like the way I earn the Canelo fight is going through all these people [Billy Joe Saunders, Jermall Charlo, Caleb Plant] and I’m sure I can make it happen, I'm 100% sure I can beat all these guys,” he said. “So the only thing I need is an opportunity right now and at the end of the day boxing wins because these are the fights fans want to see.”

"I’m going to keep calling him[Charlo] out, I’m going to keep antagonizing him, I’m going to keep pushing his buttons until he has to see me in the ring,” said Benavidez. “Hopefully that fight happens, I feel like for me just talking about which way my career wants to go I feel like that has to be one of the fights I have to get … That’ll be his last fight at 168, I’ll send him back down to 160.”

Benavidez is a true fighter! I hope PBC can make this fight happen in 2021 and tbh the winner would be a solid and legit opponent for Canelo! :TU:

Charlito talked some sh*t and he better back up his words b/c Benavidez will keep calling him out! :box:

He probably wouldn't have to just call people out constantly if he didn't fail a drug test, and come in overweight being stripped of his title.

Now he's at the mercy of guys fighting him just for the sake of fighting him. He has nothing really to offer, and it's his own fault.

I hope he gets more big opportunities because I'm a big fan of him, but Charlo has better options. Of course I doubt he'll pursue those either, but he might.

Yeah it gets boring to see all the top fighters talking sh*t, and none of 'em fighting meaningful fights.

Like literally none of 'em.

Shouldn't he call out guys in his own weight class, like Plant and Jacobs and Smith?

Well it's true that Benavidez screwed his chances to get a big fight by being undisciplined and losing his title on the scale. But everybody can make mistakes and be reckless. It's the human nature especially when you are young. He admitted and he felt sorry about that, which is a sign of maturity.

Atm it seems that Benavidez got back on track and he's training and he's focused, so I'm rooting for him and I think he'll keep working hard and stay disciplined to get the big fights.

And to be real, Charlo started to talk sh*t , so now Benavidez is doing his thing too. :box:

Both Benavidez and Charlo are PBC fighters, both are "stablemates". Plant is waiting for the Canelo-lottery.

Why would charlo move up in weight to fight a guy without a strap? Much less call it ducking? Your hard on for those brothers is never-ending.

Your agenda is for Jermall Charlo to make the jump to 168lbs, vacate his 160lbs title, with the WBC awarding GGG their vacant strap outside the ring for a second time (rather than having to defeat their titleholder).

You never seem too concerned about GGG facing the likes Kamil Szeremeta, Steve Rolls and Vanes Martirosyan, but woe betide anyone mentions Jermall Charlo’s name in the same sentence as Golovkin. And whenever this happens, you persistently claim the American is unworthy of receiving such a prestigious opportunity.

Why do you feel that way? Do you seriously believe that Jermall Charlo is an inferior fighter than the likes of Kamil Szeremeta, Steve Rolls and Vanes Martirosyan?

If I’m wrong, then please explain the reason why you’re demanding a 160lb-er like Jermall Charlo face someone in a heavier weight class?

It would be a good fight especially that both are stablemates. As boxing fan I want to see it!

Charlo said that he'd do this and that to Benavidez so it could be the beginning of a grudge match. :box:

At mw, who is there for Charlo? The other top mw's are with other promoters/ boxing platforms and pretty much all of them want a piece of 40y/o GGG(DAZN fighter).

Nobody put those words in Charlo's mouth when he bragged that he'd do this and that to Benavidez. That dude asked for it and Benavidez did his thing too. Then Charlo aslo said "They’re kids. I’m not fighting nobody under 25, and I’ not fighting nobody that don’t take the COVID vaccination." , which it sounds like a silly quacking-excuse.

David Benavidez has already declined an opportunity to face the A-side, Jermall Charlo, at a catchweight.

One fighter is 168lbs, whilst the other is 160lbs. And I don't think it's unreasonable for the pair to agree to a compromise to meet somewhere in between those weights.

I’ll say it again, in case you didn’t read my words correctly...

The self-promoted Jermall Charlo offered Benavidez the chance to face him, but his offer was rejected.

Benavidez doesn’t have a title, so there’s nothing stopping the pair from competing at a catch-weight.

And let’s not forget that Charlo is the A-side, since Benavidez has nothing to offer him (no title, no commercial worth and no reputation, since he’s inactive, failed a PED test and failed to make weight).

Benavidez competes at 168lbs.

Charlo competes at 160lbs.

A catch-weight somewhere in between is entirely reasonable, especially considering the smaller man is considered the A-side by a proverbial country mile!

Has Benavidez provided a counter-offer? The answer is a resounding “NO!”

On a side note, did you criticise GGG for facing Steve Rolls at 164lbs, considering the fact that Golovkin has boasted for several years about his ability to compete at 168lbs?

And did you criticise Team GGG when they said they’d only consider facing Andre Ward with a 164lbs catch-weight stipulation, especially considering Gennadiy’s long-term boasts about being able to compete at 168lbs?

Either apply your rules and standards consistently or not at all.

Stop finding silly excuses for Charlo. You like to twist things up.

“I said to PBC, ‘What do you have for Charlo? No one wants to see him [Jermall] have a voluntary defense, and no one wants to see Demetrius have a voluntary defense anymore. We’ll do it on Fox.’ Absolutely,” Hearn said when asked if he told PBC that he would match Andrade against Jermall Charlo on Fox. “Two weeks ago [Hearn asked PBC about matching Andrade with Charlo].
All I said to them was, ‘Can we do Charlo-Demetrius on DAZN?’ ‘No.’ ‘Can we do Charlo-Demetrius on Fox?’ ‘Oh, would you let him come to Fox?’ ‘Yeah.’ ‘Ah, okay.’ It wasn’t [we’ll do it.’ It doesn’t sound like Charlo and his training team wants to fight Demetrius Andrade,” said Hearn.
“On one hand, Charlo will say he’s his own boss, and he’ll message me and say, ‘Send me an email.’ So I send him an email, and he says, ‘I don’t make any decisions. Speak to Al Haymon,'” said Hearn. “What happened to Lion’s Only Promotion? It needs to be Cubs Only Promotion because ‘man-up’ before your own boss, and let people know what you’re going to do.
“If you’re not willing to fight another champion in a unification fight for twice as much money, and more money than you ever, then there’s something I don’t understand,” Hearn said of Jermall. “Are you being talked out of it?
“Is somebody telling you they got better options for you? So if it’s a network thing, do it on FOX. If it’s not, take the money and prove that you’re the best,” said Hearn in talking about Charlo.

Facts! Hearn proved how "self-promoted" and "his own boss" Charlo is. :OhYes:

So Charlo was like :

“168 here I come. I’ve got the approval,” said Jermall Charlo on social media. “If you don’t get that rematch with [David] Benavidez, I’ll take it. You saw what happened to [Erickson] Lubin when my brother [Jermell] fought him?
“He was dumb as f***. We are going to get it and we are going to show him. Let them keep talking ****. I’m going to come up to 168 and f**** the whole game up,
” said Jermal

Then :

“They don’t want to fight me. That’s a little boy,” Jermall said of the 24-year-old David Benavidez. “What is he? 23 or 24? I’ll hit him with some s*** he never been hit before.
They’re kids. I’m not fighting nobody under 25, and I’ not fighting nobody that don’t take the COVID vaccination."

and then:

“I campaign at 160. David Benavidez is at 168,” said Jermall Charlo on social media. “I want to fight the mother f****, meet up somewhere. I’m with it.”

Charlito changed his approach with Benavidez pretty quickly. :OhYes:

Stop finding silly excuses for Charlo. You like to twist things up.
You’re applying double standards, because you accuse a smaller fighter of ducking a larger man competing in a different (heavier) weight class, despite the larger man rejecting the terms of the fight.

And you criticise one fighter for asking for a catchweight fight once.

But yet you applaud another fighter demanding catch-weight stipulations at least twice.

You make no sense.

You duck the GGG comparisons because it would force you to admit certain uncomfortable inconvenient truths. :OhYes:
