Okolie is an enigma, looks raw as hell, cant seem to be able to make his height and insane reach count for anything apart from holding onto opponents like long lost relatives yet here he is, an Olympian with 15 pro fights, British, Commonwealth and European champion with solid wins over the likes of Chamberlain, Watkins, Askin, Camacho and Ngubu and now he's the first from the class of Rio 2016 to get a crack at a world title against a top former champ, he frustrates the life out of me watching him but he's got some pretty top notch KOs under his belt already

Glowacki hasn't fought since that farce against Briedis in the WBSS semis, took a deliberate elbow and never recovered and got stopped, he's still gonna be dangerous and even with being an away fighter in UK I'd say he's the favourite , this is pretty 50/50 but i think Okolie can spoil his way to a decision, wouldn't be surprised to see him get a KO either tbh

Hard to predict fight, but Głowacki is much better than Jeżewski & much better than anyone Okolie faced so far.

Unbeaten cruiserweight contender Lawrence Okolie is eager to make a big statement on Saturday night, when he faces former world champion Krzysztof Glowacki for the vacant WBO cruiserweight title.

A stated in recent days, Okolie wants to capture as many world titles as possible in the cruiserweight division before making the move to the heavyweight division.

At the moment Okolie can make the cruiserweight division with few issues, but it's not getting any easier as his career plays out.

He expects to be more dangerous once heading up to boxing's biggest weight class.

"For me, it's how comfortably I can make the weight. I don't enjoy it," Okolie told Sky Sports News.

"It's not hard, it's just I enjoy eating, full stop, so I have to be a little bit cautious. I have to go for long runs. I think I'll be a lot more explosive as a heavyweight.

"I owe it to myself to win this fight and have some unification matches, so I can say I've cemented my legacy on Saturday by being British, Commonwealth, European and world champion, however, for me it's not enough to have a cabinet full of those belts. I want WBO and IBF and WBC and WBA, so we'll see how many I can grab while I can still make the weight, and then we'll move up."

Okolie, who is managed to unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, is willing to fight any boxer in the weight class.

"Really, it doesn't matter to me," he said. "Anyone that [promoter] Eddie (Hearn) can guarantee, I'll take. If it's Briedis next, I'll take it, Goulamirian, I'll take it. If it was Makubu. Any one of them, genuinely, I'll go for," Okolie said.

Just checked the TV guide and it looks like I'm going to get to watch this.
Not even sure that's a good thing, Okolie is hard to watch. I'm not much of a hugger
And the undercard is a bit predictable on who is going to win.

Lawrence Okolie documentary – ‘Next in Line’



The build-up continues for Lawrence Okolie’s maiden World Title attempt with a brand new Matchroom Media produced documentary, ‘Next In Line’, released on the Matchroom Boxing YouTube channel at 6.00pm this evening.

Okolie bids to become Britain’s seventh Cruiserweight World Champion is just his sixteenth fight when he faces Poland’s Krzysztof Glowacki for the vacant WBO crown at The SSE Arena, Wembley this Saturday, live on Sky Sports in the UK and on DAZN in the U.S. and more than 200 countries and territories.

In ‘Next In Line’ we hear from all of the British Cruiserweight World Champions before him – Glenn McCrory, Carl Thompson, Johnny Nelson, Enzo Maccarinelli, David Haye and Tony Bellew, who offer their insight and well wishes ahead of the Hackney man’s big night.

“We’ve had so many great World Champions in history so to add my name to that list is going to be amazing. I’m going to go out there and do what needs to be done to bring the belt home,” said Okolie.

“In just 15 fights Lawrence Okolie has done it all and now it’s the moment of truth,” said Matchroom Sport Managing Director Eddie Hearn. “Britain has the chance to crown another World Champion but Lawrence has it all to do against a great fighter and former World Champ in Krysztof Glowacki, who is someone that has mixed it consistently at the top level.

I always thought he has to be 'Super' champion or a unified champion, but Loma wasn't unified when hemoved up and got title shots, well although, when he moved up, he fought a fellow top rank man.

As you say recently he’s improved a lot and has improved a lot of his fighters. He done most of Josh Taylor work as well.

I can’t remember the Frampton/LSC fight but like you say he was inexperienced at that time. He’s been chucked in at the deep end because of the Cyclone manager connection, where he obviously trains all the fighters.
I think he’s come on bundles and you can really see the difference in a few of the fighters that have gone to him Fowler especially. He looks a lot better under McGuigan than he ever did under Coldwell
