Why lie about a world title shot for the winner

Post by Cuban Lion »

allegedly is deluding himself.
Skelton is not getting a world title shot.
All this talk about the winner getting a shot at Valuev is a joke.

King prefered Skelton to Williams. It could happen though If King gave Mc Bride a mention for Valuev though!

The Danny of 4 years back would never of let Skelton do that to him!

To be fair, Danny made a joke about Mr Kipling's during the buildup to the audley fight, so don't think we can take credit for that.

Was it Duke or Barry who said - "At 20 stone 8 it looks like he has eating the oxygen tent".... I pissed myself when he said that.

It was Barry McGuigan. He actually said

"At 20 stone 8, he must have eaten the oxygen cylinders." :TU:

Bazza was so appalled by Danny's conditioning, he could barely conceal his disgust.

FW is flogging a very dead mule with his world title shot BS....as if these two deserve it. Even if he gets Matt a shot at the giant, who cares really.

I couldn't even be bothered to tune in Sat night - I predicted Danny would come in even heavier, even with all that oxygen tent bollox. In terms of his weight, from now on, the only way is up.

Jimmy Mac should have told him between rounds that Matt had nicked a box of his cakes, that would have seen DW come out all guns blazing!

Even knowing his weight & condition McGuigan still picked Williams to win on points just before the fight though!

Be fair to Skelton (and to a lesser extent Barry) did anyone expect Skelton had the boxing capability and even at 20 stone did anyone expect Williams to be quite that slow.

Skelton did box a bit vs Francis, but that was a 40 year old, 20 stone fighter - not a 32 year old.

No, I didn’t expect Skelton to box. Few did

But I thought Danny would be outworked on the inside so badly he would be legless by half way. As it was the ref forced them apart any time they got close which left Skelton with 2 options – to try and stand in range & trade, or box and move.

Wisely he chose the second option as Danny does have the greater one punch power.

Whether the tactics were Skelton reacting to the situation or pre-determined I don’t know – and no-one on ITV bothered to ask him unless I missed it.
