A 39-year-old woman in Utah died after getting the second dose of the vaccine. She did not have any health problems before. There seems to be more awareness of these "rare allergic reactions" when it happens to famous people. I hope a lot more people wake up.

Sh1t! From the way the posts on this thread are unfolding it looks like we have moved beyond the possibility this is a hoax or a mistake?

What a damn shame. Of all celebrity sportsmen whose passing wouldn't be a huge surprise, Marv wouldn't be among them. Horrible news.

I wonder what information made Tommy post his earlier tweet? And then retract it.

As an aside to this tragic news, let's not forget that the vaccine trials are not set to finish until 2023.

So basically anyone receiving the jab is taking part in a long term experiment.

He retracted it because it was controversial and he doesn't want to be considered anti-vaccine. His statement was truthful.

- Hoping for a hoax, but the shock turned terribly real, so now hope that vacine story can be nailed down. Marv deserves better than to be used by scavengers after such a great career.

Perhaps aptly Choc robbed as little guy bossed Estrada for most of that fight, but now Choc has a new fan.

Really feeling this one, Hagler was a bona fide legend and the epitome of a fighter. His fights were some of the first I saw and Hagler Leonard is my favourite fight, period. I would have loved to have met the man and it was a always a dream to travel to America and meet the legends at an event or somehow. Wishes to his family and friends. Gone too soon.

Idolised hagler as a kid.

A terrifying edifice of a man, graven to fight from a block of solid steel.

That look, the shiny bald dome, and impassive face personified fighting for me. He seemed unbeatable in his pomp, I probably cried when Leonard one, I know I hated ray for years afterward for it. In hindsight Rays performance was stunning.

I love both fighters and with the sad news i've revisited Haglers old fights, one of my favourites was v Mugabi and round 6 was amazing, they were both outstanding that night and Hagler must have been made of steel to take those shots from 'The Beast',truly awesome fighter he was

Stupid question.

Since Tommy posted his reaction it was naturally a concern to all of Marvin's fans. He seemed to have access to certain information that many of us who were still in shock didn't.

Since it's thoroughly well documented that vaccines can have serious adverse reactions, it was only natural to ask for some further clarification.

Of course everyone here would want to respect the wishes of Marvin's widow Kay.

Her pain and shock will be deeper than ours.

Maybe the vaccine company had a talk with her. These vaccine companies have a lot of money and they don't like bad publicity. The mainstream media is afraid of being sued, so they don't want to suggest any link between his death and the vaccine. I found only one article that did, but it was not mainstream. It was not a well-known website.

When Hank Aaron died after taking the vaccine, people can say he was old. Hagler was a fit 66, so WTF happened? Hagler's Wikipedia page states that he died "unexpectedly." It doesn't state that he received the vaccine whereas Hank Aaron's Wikipedia page does, but it states that Aaron died from "natural causes."

It's simply a fact that no long term testing has been done on these vaccines, they are all very new and getting rushed out there, it is healthy to question them, it doesnt make you an anti vaxer who thinks all vaccines are bad

I listened to a podcast about Marvin yesterday and I didn't realise how many great quotes that were attributable to him.

I also watched the the preamble to the Hearns fight for the first time and one instance, there was Tommy Hearns being interviewed in a studio and they did a live video link to Marvin somewhere; Hearns was talking about moving up through the weights and winning world titles. Marvin menacingly told Tommy that he isn't going to get to light heavyweight because you've got to come through me and I'm going to break every bone in your body.

Goodness knows, he certainly tried to break every bone in Hearns's body.

I always thought of him as an unassuming guy who did his talking in the ring, but he was great with words too.

Hagler v Hearns stands as a great fight 35 years later that's how good it was.
See that 1st round.
There will be a lot of hard core boxing fans cut up over this.
Hagler v Leonard was a changing of the guard.
