Bentley v Cash announcement this week
Seen a rumour that Cash has accepted this and will go for it ahead of the European shot so a bit of credit there.
Does anyone know what the bids were?

No, I didn’t see the winning bid mentioned anywhere. Do the BBBC normally announce the amounts of winning purse bids ? I don’t recall

Who announced it?
I remember it being announced for Martin Lindsay vs Paul Appleby but I’m pretty certain the BBBC don’t announce it themselves.

Yeah it may well have been announced by someone other than the board.maverick23 wrote: ↑14 Mar 2021, 09:59Who announced it?

I’m sure if we dig back through the threads we will see the purse bid was £260,000. I remember thinking at the time I’d be surprised if there was a bigger purse bid for a British title fight outside of the heavyweights. Groves degale may have made more but that obviously didn’t go to bids.

I think they’ll only get announced if the promoter wants to show off about it.jameswilson wrote: ↑14 Mar 2021, 11:01Yeah it may well have been announced by someone other than the board.maverick23 wrote: ↑14 Mar 2021, 09:59Who announced it?

You might be right with it being the biggest British title purse bid although it could maybe have been Fury vs Chisora the first time they fought.
I’d guess the most money made in a British title fight will be the AJ/Whyte fight.

FW won the bids. It was about 600,000. I went to the fight.

Re: Bentley v Cash announcement this week
Coldwell won the bids on behalf of Hayemaker with a winning bid of £400k.
I don’t know whether they then did a deal with FW to put it on his show or whether they were unable to follow through it with so it reverted to the 2nd highest i.e. FW.

Re: Bentley v Cash announcement this week
Bentley has shown a good ability to ride shots - taking the sting out of them . Got caught and buzzed by Heffron late in the first fight but weathered the storm and learnt from the mistakes.
