Unbeaten Kyoguchi defends his WBA Light Flyweight title against Vega on the Gonzalez/Estrada 2 card this weekend, looking forward to seeing Kyoguchi for first time, ive seen a few clips of him, wasnt he in a FOTY contender a couple years back? He's also a former Strawweight title holder as well, Vega lost a close 7 round TD for the World Strawweight title a couple fights back himself

I read earlier that if Vega wins he'll be the first World champ male or female who's born in the 2000s, also at 4'9 he'll be the shortest ever World champ

Love Kyoguchi and not surprised they’re getting him an outing stateside, great style for them. Reminds me of a less-refined Canelo at times, the way he throws them super fast bent arm combos. Really not sure why he doesn’t unify with Kenshiro.

He’s also up there with Inoue and Golovkin for the “Dont judge a book by its cover” award. Some of his Instagram posts he looks about twelve with his big Harry Potter glasses.

Kyoguchi stops Vega in the 5th after Vega injured his hand, cracking fight, Vega despite looking like an actual dwarf brought the heat and looked strong as a bull, really took the fight to Kyoguchi who duly obliged, both men traded uppercuts up close, whipped in body shots and there were some fun exchanges, Kyoguchi for me had that bit more quality in his punches and i had him ahead

Bizarre ending in round 5 when Vega hit Kyoguchi to the top of the head witgh a right hand and immediately turned away in distress, Kyoguchi went for the kill and nailed Vega with a right of his own as the ref jumped in, you've got to feel for Vega he was well in the fight but he looked in agony even after it was stopped

Gutted this fight ended early following the Vega injury, really enjoyable while it lasted.

Kyogucho opened up in the first looking very sharp indeed, winging his sharp left hook to the body before fizzing home several uppercuts but the miniscule Vega wasn't perturbed in the slightest, using his insanely small frame to dip underneath and close the gap effectively.

Vega was pressing the action well and arguably getting the better of things on the inside at times, touched to the body and used the uppercut well himself, forcing Kyogucho to fight his fight in many ways but the champion was probably landing the more eye catching work on the whole. Action was really heating up before the unfortunate hand damage to Vega forced the referee to end proceedings. Not sure I've seen a fighter that small before, 4 foot 8/9? Pocket rocket.

Vega proved to be a bit of a challenge, Kyoguchi struggled to land clean on such a compact frame, and probably could've done with some more straight shots considersing that vega had the earmuff style defense on and was also bending low to protect the body

it did seem to me like kyoguchi was starting to show his extra class, even fighting vega on the inside where vega wanted it. shame the fight ended like that, it was pretty good while it lasted

Me too, thought he'd been buckled to the body. When he was pretty much defenceless on the ropes Kyoguchi didn't connect with that free right hand before the referee jumped in, could have been even worse for Vega.
