After years of working on the door with untold incidents with ferile women I completely get why many get punched or at least should get punched.
However I never hit any of them, largely because I managed to keep control of the situations so I didn't need to.
That's the thing here, I really wouldn't be surprised if she deserved it, but he didn't need to do it. At the end of the day it's about reasonable force, not what they deserve.
People are saying here that you should never hit a woman as if we are judging women like little, harmless creatures, but the reality is quite different. I promise you you only get yourself in these type of situations if you put yourself there.
I reckon he got a soft sentence because she was one of these women.

Got a 2 inch scar on my head from working a door , throwing out a guy his girlfreind / wife glassed me in the head from behind , , i turned and decked her with one punch , thinking back , kind of sorry i did'nt kick her teeth down the back of her throat .

I recall in another thread where you offered the opinion that that other tragic fantasist mickey1975 could beat me in a couple of rounds when we have our "spar". Maybe you'd like to do a few rounds after I've finished with your pal Mickey. You might not find it as easy as slapping a "bird" though.

As a doorman it def can be used as a lot of the time folk giving the big one are standing square on. It enough to give yourself a bit of distance if the fella is in your face, esp if he's not expecting it.
Sometimes it enough to make the fella think twice, esp if you do it in the middle of the chest just under the ribs as it will take a bit of wind out of them.
However if the fella fancies a fight it would be never enough to discourage them but it helps you take control of the situation esp if you have a haymaker lined up for when he has just set his feet again!

no. He just used an open hand and his chi energy..... no contact. Hence the short sentence

Did he slap her or hit / punch her , a slap i would expect is a fair defence , a full on punch is a bully hitting a woman ... I know when i first strated working has a doorman , i was given some advice which on the rare occasion and i say rare , because i never had to resort to hitting often , usually resolved it with my mouth ,
Anyway always remember being told from an old fella i worked with ,,, Give em a good slap around the ear , thats sorts out the men from the boys ,,, the boys will know your treating them with distane , and skulk of with there ears ringing thinking theve been hi with a sledgehammer ,,, the men will fire up right back at you , saying its a slap , that all you got ,,, but 99 out of 100 , most would behave and skulk away

There is a video of one of these ‘masters’ agreeing to fight a karate instructor and he gets punched to bits in about 10 seconds. So maybe stupid as well.

If you read it correctly Edward you would see that I wrote I doubt I would use the one inch punch (that I have perfected by the way) on a bird. It would be too dangerous.

I once punched through a brick wall with ease. I smacked it..............it went down.

Followed it up with a spinning Eagle kick.

Maybe that kind of power would give me.an outside chance?
