I just wanted to correct some info on the above-mentioned boxer. His last name was actually "Schlereth", and his given first name was Clifford. He was born 23 Jan 1909 in St. Louis, Missouri, and died there on 26 Feb 1994. I don't know if you will be able to see the following pages because I accessed them through my subscription to ancestry.com, but here are links to proof:

The first is from the Social Security Death Index and gives his name and dates. The second is a link to a page from the 1930 census on which he is listed and his occupation is given as "Boxer" in the industry of "sport".
