That's an interesting idea. It's similar to Wlad-Joshua, when the caution caused a loss.

Agree fully. Whyte’s biggest regret will have been not going for the finish when he had the chances and he’s openly said since that he needs to be more aggressive.

I think he wins this by KO inside 4. Whyte will be on it and who knows how much Povetkin has left in the tank following his Covid battle.

I don't think his KO came about from "going for it", he's an old man that was in a slow enough paced fight that gave him an opening.

I’m sure I heard him say that beating Pov would make him the 3rd best HW in the world. So on that basis he ranks Pov as the current world no 3 ?? The mind goggles.

I’m certainly considering lumping large on Whyte for that very reason. No way in hell should Povetkin even be in the ring so soon after Covid hospitalisation.

If Whyte wins, Usyk will call him out. It's a bigger name, more money and IMO less risk than facing Joyce. Usyk is getting old, is injury prone and already in a mandatory position, if he lost to Joyce, he'd likely never get another shot.

With Whyte being in Portugal and I’m guessing no drug testing he could be punching harder than ever. But usually he’s not a big puncher at the highest level and settles for points victories after having a go and gassing.

A lot of those breakdowns Whyte can learn to box carefull like aj did to Ruiz,, don’t think he has the skills for that, aj is far more skilled than Whyte , and pov is far more technical than Ruiz.
The difference is whyte can only keep this long if povetkin wants to keep it long, no way Whyte has the back foot game to hold even a weathered pov off.

The early mindset will be fascinating, but if Whyte tries to keep it long I think he might get a lunging left hook to the brain this time. But it’s a coin toss for me, but someone is getting knocked surrrrely
