Drug testing for Whyte vs Povetkin 2

Post by kbackup408 »

It feels highly suspicious that there is no VADA testing for this bout?

Worth discussing or is it absolutely fine if both fighters have agreed to take dubious substances for our entertainment.

Unacceptable for a Ppv headliner not to have third party drug testing. Whyte being in Portugal is suss as fornicate, and pov being in Russia... plus Especially when it’s 2 guys who have has a checkered past with it, but duck it, mabey they have a handshake agreement to get jacked by any means nessasary and put on a show.

can’t see how Eddie or more importantly WBC can be ok with this.

I think it will be a level playing field anyway if you know what I mean.

Absolutely if both have an under the table agreement no problem, wish this is asked to the promoter or broadcaster in public

Eddie’s said both have been tested by VADA for this fight and it has been under VADA since the rematch was signed originally.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t true, I can’t find anything official backing this up, where did you get this from?

There was a tweet before their first fight saying the same thing and VADA replied to it and said it wasn’t true, I’m guessing same fake news story doing the rounds again.

VADA usually keep their website current. They have not updated it for the second fight which is why people will be drawing the conclusion (rightly or wrongly?) that the rematch hasn't been signed up for testing.

I thought you had to sign up to VADA to even be ranked by the WBC?!

You are supposed to if you are in the WBC TOp 15 rankings which both Sasha and Whyte are. It is unusual for VADA not to have their site up to date. Maybe Covid travel restrictions have hampered testing? Portugal was travel ban central.

It’s still a mystery to me how Whyte escaped a ban after testing positive for derivatives of the popular muscle building steroid Dianabol, (or Dbol as it’s commonly referred to by bodybuilders). Usually taken orally, so maybe Whyte is needle adverse?!
I can’t imagine a Povetkin is operating at his age without a decent amount or bio-identical testosterone being injected and a steroid of choice on top.

They seemed to accept that he was contaminated. How come other athletes are unable to use that excuse?

What good is that? Nobody with half a brain would not have cycled off by now. How many times was he tested during training camp?

No idea, just repeating what he said, the whole system is flawed and I'm sure open to abuse if you know what you are doing.

I don't trust VADA to do a good job. I think it's a shame that those sportsmen who are clean are getting rumped and those that want to be clean but still achieve greatness have little option but to start pricking themselves in the arse. Professional sport will cut its own throat. No parent worth a wank should be encouraging their children into playing sport for any reason other than a bit of fun. There are very few decent values left in sport, it's taken far too seriously.

Because there's big money to be made, the sport has a lot of issues and unfortunately this is another one of them. I'm sure at one point someone will die or be seriously injured and their opponent will fail a drugs test, that could destroy the sport as we know it.
