Easier said than done, I know, but I honestly didn’t see a way of Groves staying with Froch for 12 rounds and not getting knocked out.
I disagree, although yes it worked out with a Groves KO - thought Groves was boxing his way back into the fight and momentum had swung then boom, bang.

I think Groves' more cautious start was a counter against his apparent fatigue / fading in fight 1.

Groves wasn't cautious enough actually. He should have fought Froch the way he fought Degale and Eubank. For some reason he always fancied himself to starch Froch and didn't have the respect for Frochys toughness that he should have. Froch was limited but his chin, recovery and heart were elite. The Jean Pascal fight early in his career showed how tough he was. He walked through bombs all night. Clean punches to the chin which Pascal was able to get a good wind up and put all of his force into the punches. People forget about that fight.
