Moline is crap.
Yes agree but he's only lost to top level guys and is experienced.

What were the weights last time - Povetkin looks like he lost a lot of muscle..... Does boxrec no longer show the weights in a boxer's profile?

I really don't like the vibes off Povetkin - really think he is here for the money / obligations. Don't think he is ready for this fight.

Think Povetkin's about 5 lbs heavier, Whyte is about 5 lbs lighter. Povetkin looks like he has less definition, Whyte looks like he's in a bit better shape.

According to recent heavyweight history Dillian Whyte has just a 6% chance of revenge against Alexander Povetkin

Stats reveal Whyte has the odds stacked against him in Povetkin rematch

Dillian Whyte may be the favourite to defeat Alexander Povetkin for the WBC interim heavyweight title on Saturday, but research from William Hill has revealed history is not on his side when it comes to gaining revenge in a heavyweight rematch.

Whyte and Povetkin will meet in the ring at Rumble on the Rock in Gibraltar this weekend, with the British fighter looking to avenge his knockout defeat to the Russian from August last year to remain on course for a WBC world title shot.

However, a study from William Hill analysing rematches involving every current heavyweight boxer in the top 15 WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF rankings has revealed that only 6% of first-time losers have gone on to seal revenge in the follow-up bout, with that being Anthony Joshua against Andy Ruiz Jr.

Some 34 heavyweight boxers were analysed with 17 fights leading to a rematch, with a mammoth 88% of original winners going on to claim back-to-back victories. Just 6% of the fights started with a draw before the rematch was settled with a victory – Tyson Fury’s eventual win over Deontay Wilder.

Of the 34 fighters analysed, Fury, Wilder and Derek Chisora have been involved in the most rematches with three each. Whyte will be fighting in his second after previously disposing of Chisora with back-to-back wins, while Povetkin has never previously been involved in a rematch.

If boxing fans are hoping for a trilogy fight between Whyte and Povetkin, they may be disappointed with just 6% of the fights heading for a third clash – Trevor Bryan’s trilogy of victories over Sandy Antonio Soto.

A William Hill spokesperson said: “If the first fight between Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin is anything to go by, we’re all set for a thrilling second bout this weekend, with Whyte desperate to gain revenge over the Russian.

“However, Whyte may want to look away now, as if our research is anything to go by then the odds are well and truly stacked against him. Of the heavyweight rematches we analysed, a mega 88% of them saw the original winner claim another victory, while just 6% of them involved the loser avenging the first defeat.

“History looks to be on the side of Povetkin on Saturday, but it will be a fascinating watch to see if Whyte can rewrite the record books in Gibraltar.”

That's surpised me - though Povetkin would be lighter cos I didn't think he had much more of a belly on him. Perhaps he has been working on his legs a bit, which might not be a bad thing if his punch resistance is going.

I don't like seeing boxers with big arms shoulders, toned yes, but not big - but Povetkin's arms just looked like an "average guy" whose not trained in their life.

All the money is going on Whyte though. The bookies are trying hard to encourage people to bet on the Covid riddled Russian.

I fancy Whyte to get this, he looks well, probably come off a nice little cycle..

Povetkin looks a little soft and Covid will have had an effect on him. Can see a Whyte stoppage this time as long as he avoids the big shot which is Pov's only real chance to win. Decisions will likely go Dillian's way as the house fighter here..

Whytes got to no where he went wrong and get his revenge this time surely

Povetkins a game old boy and I'm not counting him out at all,I like Povetkin, and Whyte as it goes,2 game fighters,up for it,but Whyte was having the better time of it in the early stages and put Povetkin down so no reason he can't give a measured performance and stop Povetkin when the opportunity properly presents itself

But at the same time Povetkin was looking for that shot last time and got it so it's another anything can happen one for me :maybe:

Doubt co vid will have any impact, it’s just feeling a bit ropey for about four days if you are healthy and with no underlying condition. Plus he had it ages ago.

The guy was in hospital and postponed the fight twice cos he wasn't ready. He had it quite bad by most accounts.

I’m glad pov has got some weight on him, even if it’s a touch soft. Was a bit worried about him weighing in at like 210 and realising I’d bet on a guy for an early ko that lost all his strength to covid.

Not so glad Whyte is light. Makes me think he will try mix in some back foot jabbing, not that I feel he has the skills to do that vs an operator like pov, but might buy him some time befor he goes back to classic dillian.

I doubt he’d be taking the fight if he wasn’t 100% fit and cleared. I hope not anyway. He’s a tough man though. It’ll be a hard fight for Whyte again.

Povetkin is in a worse shape compared with the previous bout, gained some fat. Whyte is in a slightly better shape.

Whyte looks motivated. Probably he gotta start like in the previous bout, but sharpen after the first success.

Povetkin now fits the saying, that the old dog can't be taught new tricks, but he still has the power and tools to deliver it.

Povetkin's covid case brings the obscurity in the matchup. Without it I'd pick Povetkin by KO. Now I more lean towards Whyte, but still I believe, Povetkin can KO him.

I see this fight going about 6 rounds with Whyte's lead on points, after what someone gets KOed.

I've always rooted for Povetkin, I'll do that now. I'm not a Whyte hater, but this time I'll be especially glad to see Whyte brutally pulverized. Povetkin deserves it after everything he was forced to overcome, while Whyte talked too much about the outcome of the 1st fight.

Whyte vs Povetkin live stream: Free links spread online as police urged to ‘make example’ of pirates

CEO of FACT says viewers of illegal streams will face consequences as streaming sites pop up across Facebook, Reddit and Twitter in build-up to fight

British heavyweight Dillian Whyte will meet Russian Alexander Povetkin for the second time in seven months on Saturday, in a highly-anticipated rematch dubbed the “Rumble on the Rock”.

The Gibraltar clash will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Box Office at around 10.30pm, depending on the length of earlier bouts on the card, however the £19.95 fee has prompted warnings that illegal online streams will once again plague the event.

Similar to other high-profile fights with a pay-per-view fee, there is expected to be a huge proliferation of streams that offer people free ways to watch the fight online.

Pirated feeds typically spread across social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter in the build up to the events, as well as on dedicated forums on popular sites like Reddit.

Key words associated with the fight, together with phrases like “free stream” also lead users of popular search engines to websites hosting the fight illegally. A recent study by Synamedia found that a majority of sports fans actually watch pirated content rather than pay for the official broadcast.

Police and regulators have previously targeted the pirates that are broadcasting illegal content through streaming boxes, or hosting websites with links to free live streams.

However recently there has been a shift towards targeting the consumers as well.

FACT, the UK’s leading intellectual property protection organisation, has been working alongside police to warn people watching pirated streams that they are breaking the law.

Last September, thousands of subscribers to an illegal streaming service (GE Hosting) were sent cease and desist letters that warned them that illegally streaming content carries a maximum sentence of five years’ imprisonment.

“The situation has so far been more around an educational message saying that this is crime, don’t do it,” Kieron Sharp, CEO of FACT and former Detective Constable with the Metropolitan police, told The Independent.

“The police looked at the customer database and sent out a message to let them know they’re doing something illegal and need to stop.”

Mr Sharp said he was unaware of the police taking further action, or of people being prosecuted simply for watching illegal streams, but said that “it will happen” at some point.

“Somebody is going to be made an example of, and they will think it’s absolutely unfair because they’re being picked on when everyone else who’s a consumer as well is getting away with it,” he said.

“But it will happen, I can absolutely guarantee it. And it’s going to be a shock to consumers when that sort of thing does start happening.”
