This one would be Extremely interesting.
Let's just imagine if this was a 15 rounder.
Neither of these Warriors would slow down throughout the entire 15,if it goes that long.

Re: Danny Lopez vs Johnny Tapia
I think Lopez would win something like 144-141....but this is a true 50/50 fight...Lopez would land the harder shots, through..

Re: Danny Lopez vs Johnny Tapia
Johnny Tapia was a warrior, but Danny Lopez was warrior times 2. And he hit harder. Lopez by knockout in 10
Re: Danny Lopez vs Johnny Tapia
Vaguely remember Lopez, I'm certainly familiar with a number of his opponents, I probably need a fight refresher or two.
As for Tapia, no way anyone stops him anywhere around his prime, he had a Hagler chin, among the most solid and legendary beards I've ever seen in the sport.

Re: Danny Lopez vs Johnny Tapia
Did Johnny Tapia had Salvador Sanchez' chin? In my view, I doubt it, and Sanchez beat Danny Lopez with movement from side to side and counterpunching. Lopez' was not able to hit Sanchez cleanly. Tapia was a swarmer, but at 126lbs he did not had that power as in bantamweight. And Little Red was a devastating puncher. One of the best punchers below 130lbs.Evander wrote: ↑25 Mar 2021, 22:17 Vaguely remember Lopez, I'm certainly familiar with a number of his opponents, I probably need a fight refresher or two.

I'll run a sim fight of these two fighters some time this week. I'll place the diary here when it happens.

I didn't emphasize power in relation to Tapia.elmersalsa wrote: ↑26 Mar 2021, 14:11Did Johnny Tapia had Salvador Sanchez' chin? Swarmer as you say ?
Yeah I'll agree with that, one of Tapia's strong points.
Tapia's chin I can't move on, it really was that good,
