Difference between a full time totally commited champion , and a guy who's been handed the right fights he did'nt have to work hard for
Real deal, classy pro vs fraud, basically,

These guys are fighters. What else do they have to do with this conversation?

Flu won’t bother BJS. He’s got plenty of nasal spray knocking around.

Is Saunders still sat up to all hours on social media. Can’t be good for a camp if so.
Re: So Saunders has flu etc
Its not out of the question, but unlikely. Bill's comming to nick it, box and bag rounds. He might look to be doing ok early as Canelo warms into the fight, but i see Canelo getting on top around the 4th, and stopping Saunders anywhere between the 5th and 8th round.

you think he wins 9 rounds vs canelo my man? i cant see it myself, canelo is a hell of a fighter with skills, strength, speed, and power. only floyd won 9 vs nelo and nelos better since then

Re: So Saunders has flu etc
He will give a performance to be proud of and box out of his skin
He wouldn't be just a patsy for anybody, wouldn't show his face if he just walked in to lose,he couldn't be messed for akavov,we all know you should give 100% in all fights but that's the strength of it his heart wasn't in the akavov fight but for Canelo there is no way he will make a show of himself
In very good shape so far
Not saying he will win but it's gonna be some performance
Re: So Saunders has flu etc
Reports suggest he’s getting $8m for fighting Canelo. Considering his net worth is estimated at $2m the fight makes perfect sense business wise.mickey1975 wrote: ↑25 Mar 2021, 17:55Millionaire?Black Sam Bellamy wrote: ↑25 Mar 2021, 16:42 Cash out fight. BJS will believe 100% that he can beat Canelo too. not all of Canelo’s opponents go into their fights believing that - Avni Yildarim was a beaten man before the fist bell sounded

Re: So Saunders has flu etc
Nope, but I’ve been around lesser fighters facing bigger challenges and seen their positive mindset and self belief.
I’ve never sat down with BJS, but I strongly believe he’s going into this fight with 100% self belief he will win.
As hard as it is to believe from the outside looking in, fighters have an amazing self belief. How many gave Fury much of a chance against Wladamir in Germany.... Fury went into that fight 100% sure he would win. The top top athletes have to have that psychology.
I remember going to Dublin with Ricky Hatton and Billy Graham in August 2007. The belief they had that Ricky would beat Floyd was absolutely unwavering. There was absolutely no doubt whatsoever in that camp that Ricky was going to win the fight. We spoke about the game plan and it was completely full proof. Not a single seed of doubt that the fight would be won. I was fortunate enough to get a ticket from Hatton allocation and made the trip to Vegas 4 months later. Didn’t quite pan out as we thought

what do you think callums self belief was like based on what you saw vs canelo
i mean you say fighters have amazing confidence, but then are saying fighters werent confident vs canelo?

Re: So Saunders has flu etc
Smith has openly said when he saw Canelo for first time face to face he thought “there’s no way someone that size can beat me”. He was super confident going into the fight...margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 18:07 what do you think callums self belief was like based on what you saw vs canelo
Unfortunately self belief only gets you so far. Smith said he realised quite early how good Canelo was when Canelo was encouraging him to throw the long jab, which on paper was Smiths main weapon.
Not all fighters go into fights with that unwavering self belief, and many that do have it knocked out of them pretty quickly.
I wonder how long it was before Jeff Lacy realised he could do absolutely nothing with Joe Calzaghe .

Unless Jeff was deluded, about 150 seconds. The difference in speed, precision, movement and calmness was so vast it wasn’t even funny.

The 76/84/88 US amateurs were planets better than the 00/04/08/12/16 teams.
Re: So Saunders has flu etc
Have to give kudos to Lacy for not quitting. There would’ve been no shame in him telling his corner “no more”.coghaugen11 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 18:44 Unless Jeff was deluded, about 150 seconds. The difference in speed, precision, movement and calmness was so vast it wasn’t even funny.
His corner on the other hand should’ve pulled him out long before the final bell.
Re: So Saunders has flu etc
To be honest we should expect a career best effort from bjs. What would that look like against such a master, as Canelo.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑27 Mar 2021, 10:02 Flu won’t bother BJS. He’s got plenty of nasal spray knocking around.
He should be able to move his feet & take some early rounds. It's very hard to imagine Canelo not figuring him out, but it's a genuine fight. Top 2 at super middle now.
Re: So Saunders has flu etc
I expect a very good Saunders to turn up.

Re: So Saunders has flu etc
I seem to remember about 3 or 4 years ago watching an ifl interview with BJS. I think at the time a fight with Golovkin was being mooted but BJS said something along the lines of “there’s no way I’d fight Golovkin at the moment. I’m not stupid. I’ll wait for a few years til he’s on the slide”. I am paraphrasing here but I feel his stock dropped from then onwards IMO. Then all the silly YouTube “pranks” began...
I doubt he’d give a toss what my opinion is though
