Double stoppage opens NSR account in style

Fan-friendly Mexican featherweights Vicente Saldivar and Juan Manuel Marquez began their professional journeys in fine style today with victories inside the distance against Jorge Linares and Genero Garcia respectively.

Speedy Venezuelan Linares showed glimpses of his ability but proved to be no match for the spiteful, accurate work of Saldivar who closed the show in the 7th round with a vicious left hand after dropping his foe once before earlier in the same stanza.

The Cancha Revolucion crowd were treated to a real war as late replacement Genero Garcia produced a spirited effort against Juan Manuel Marquez before succumbing to a TKO defeat due to a horrendous cut on the nose caused by the powerful right hand of Dinamita. Many thanks to Genero stepping in at short notice after Mikey was sadly mauled by a bear while undergoing road work ahead of the contest.
