Joe Calzaghe vs Iran Barkley
Joe Calzaghe vs Iran Barkley
15 Rd 168 lbs
Barkley is always a danger because he's heavy handed, and game with a good chin.
But I think Calzaghe is too quick with the angles and wins via ud

Re: Joe Calzaghe vs Iran Barkley
Calzaghe could take a punch, high level intensity type of boxer.
Barkley was a grinder, had power but may have lacked the defensive skills to stop the onslaught of punches which Calzaghe brings.
15 rounds does put a slightly different spin on things, enough so that those 3 extra rounds would make a difference ?
I don't think so.
Calzaghe was disciplined he would have prepared for that.

I think all World Title fights should have remained 15 rds. USBA,NABF etc 12 rds but I think those extra 3 rds meant a lot as to the outcome of fights. A good disciplined fighter that could go 10,should be able to go 12,unless really getting beaten or caught a good shot. Not so much with 15.

Joe by UD
Re: Joe Calzaghe vs Iran Barkley
I strongly agreed. All World Title fights should have keep 15 rounds while the minor titles like the USBA, IBO and NABF should stay 12 rounds. Barkley once went 15 rounds in a losing effort with Sumbu Kalambay for the vacant WBA Middleweight Title and both men were still standing with great condition and durability.zuru wrote: ↑01 Apr 2021, 23:35 I think all World Title fights should have remained 15 rds. Anyways, Super Joe would out-box Barkley behind his southpaw jabs and combinations for a decision win in 15 rounds and Joe wouldn't be exhausted.

Calzaghe for me on points.... but he would absolutely need to watch himself.
Not the right night for Joe to be below his best or get cocky.

Calzaghe either by easy decision or stoppage.
Re: Joe Calzaghe vs Iran Barkley
Calzaghe might get knocked down somewhere in there, but he'd win most rounds and take a comfortable UD.

Joe would take it with a slick decision win.
A bit similar to the performance against Lacy.

Calzaghe easily...UD
Re: Joe Calzaghe vs Iran Barkley
I think Joe wins too.....said it earlier up the thread.
But it does not feel quite like the walk-in-the-park a few lads have suggested.
Barkley could bang, he could hustle and it could get a bit tasty if Joe got a bit too macho/involved.
The Joe who went for Byron Mitchell got a shock and he'd be best advised not to do that against Iran.

Calzaghe by a shotout.
Re: Joe Calzaghe vs Iran Barkley
Wide, Wide decision for Calzaghe.
Re: Joe Calzaghe vs Iran Barkley
No chance of Joe taking this fight.
Absolute zero.
Punchers need not apply.
Even in a forum for mythical fights this one should be excluded
Calzaghe the better boxer by a wide margin but far more interested in avoiding risk.
