Roger Mayweather x Alexis Arguello

Post by zuru »

15 Rd Lightweight
I think Mayweather has good success early but as the fighter goes on I see him fading from body shots and Arguello closing the gap landing more to a 12 Rd tko

If Roger Mayweather was the WBA World Jr Welterweight Champion instead of Aaron Pryor, we would have seen the great Alexis Arguello as the first 4 division champion instead of the great Thomas Hearns.

Arguello by knockout in 9

Agree with all the assessments. I can see Mayweather landing big on Arguello early in he fight, maybe causing some swelling, but Arguello taking over in the second half and winning by KO in the 10th or 11th

Arguello had much more class. Alexis would destroy Mayweather from the range with his jabs and power shots and stop him in about 9 rounds.

X2 The Explosive Thin Man would wear him down with long jabs and body punches to set Roger up with powerful left hooks and right hands that knocks him out in 11 rounds.

Competitive for about 6 rds, but a big overhand right with Mayweather's name on it is lurking like Jaws. Arguello KO 7.

Roger would start out strong, outboxing Alexis. But Alexis catches him strong around the 7th or 8th round and drops him. He finishes Mayweather in the 10th.
