Jordan Gill should be on the undercard.

KeyShawn Davis looks like the business
Re: Round-by-Round: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
Had a stellar amateur career, but for his 2nd pro fight Davis looks very advanced.

Was a tough watch that!
Actually shows that Anna Woolhouse is a pretty good presenter.
I’m surprised Eggington has signed with Hennessy - particularly given how many strong domestic light middleweights Matchroom have.

Thanks for the RBR chaps.
Couldn't get to watch this one.

Thank God Bunce jumped in during the interview with Eggington. She seemed more interested in asking how many Easter eggs Sam was eating
Still over 30 minutes to go. Suspect they will cut the transmission short. I love the fact that Channel 5 cover boxing, but they drop some real clangers.
Anyway, May 22nd next show

Re: Round-by-Round: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
It's exasperating
Why do boxing fans have to be insulted with a presenter who is clueless on the subject she is presenting
We've had to put up with some real sh1t over the years....John Inverdale, Mark Bright (so bad it had to seen to be believed), Adrian Chiles, the bloke who played "Kelvin" in East Enders and whoever this talentless lady is on Channel 5 to name but a few
Can you imagine the seamless job Alex Steadman would have done with Bunce and Taylor in the studio ?!
Steadman not only knows Frampton's career inside out but unlike that whopping great tit Fearon, really does have master knowledge of boxing that can educate the not so well informed and at the same time still speak to the more well informed.

The channel 5 coverage was obviously poor but in fairness they only got the fight in fight week.
It was tough to watch but to be expected with how bad he’s looked since leaving Shane McGuigan.
All the warning signs were there. Talking about retirement, whinging about the low blow in the first round, taking an age to get off the stool at the start of round two. He looked dreadful to be honest.
Obviously some of that was down to Herring been a good fighter & using his height & reach well but Frampton’s clearly regressed.

Frampton is right to retire, he didn't look great, good luck to him.
Re: Round-by-Round: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
Yep, this sums it up for me as well. If you’d been watching the fight ‘cold’ without knowing his history, you’d struggle to believe that was a former 2-time world champion in there.
Glad he’s retiring as clearly nothing left in the tank.
Re: Round-by-Round: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
According to Compubox Frampton only landed 4 jabs in 6 rounds. it was very strange the way he was pawing with his left hand, as if there was spiders webs in front of him. I'm not making excuses for him but his hand may still have been damaged. it didn't help Herring seeing his right hand being thrown every time. Been to many of his fights, had many good nights. Enjoy your retirement you will have plenty of time to go fishing. Good luck chum. (Chum get it)

He was totally outgunned. Never in the fight at all. Not the ideal way to go out but he’s had a good career. Right time to finish it.Controversial wrote: ↑04 Apr 2021, 06:12 Frampton is right to retire, he didn't look great, good luck to him.

Re: Round-by-Round: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
Easy enough to hate the presenter, but at least she isn't Paul Smith or Spencer Fearon who... Well... I dunno, do they have nudes of someone powerful?
Re: Round-by-Round: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
Trawling through his record, not sure Herring's got the mussels to reel Trout in. He'll be floundering all night and well behind at the fin.

Re: Round-by-Round: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
Statement
Frampton said: “Only those closest to me know that, win, lose or draw with Jamel Herring, I was planning to retire. I made a promise to myself and to my wife and kids – the most important people in my life – that whatever the result, that was my last one.
“When I look back on my career I have achieved more than I could have ever imagined. Celtic, Commonwealth and European titles, winning my first world title at home in a purpose-built arena, the sold-out nights defending that title at the Odyssey, unifying a division, defeating a top ten pound for pound guy, winning a title in a second division against the odds, Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year, MBE, and fulfilling a dream by fighting and winning in front of a packed Windsor Park.
“For me though, my biggest career achievement has been my fan base and support. I can’t express how thankful I am to the army of fans who made those nights in the Odyssey so atmospheric, the 16,000 that saw me win my first title at home on that special night, the 15,000 who travelled to Manchester the night we took over and I unified, and the thousands that travelled to the States to watch me fight a great champion in Leo Santa Cruz.
“As a fighter, the support has been my biggest and proudest accomplishment. The outpouring of respect that I have received since my defeat to Herring has been immense and I thank all who have said kind words to me. They fill me with a huge sense of pride.
“None of this would have been possible without the support of my beautiful wife Christine and my amazing children, Carla and Rossa. Christine has made sacrifices that I am eternally grateful for; giving up on her own aspirations to allow me to fulfil mine, supporting me financially at the start when I had nothing, and supporting me emotionally throughout my career without ever asking for anything in return. I owe her so much and now I would love to help her chase her own dreams.
“As much as my family, I cannot forget the people, city and nation that I have come from. My sense of belonging, my roots and the community have always uplifted me and given me so much. It is my turn now to repay some of that and to take on the new challenge of helping others as they have helped me in the past.
“I was 7 years old when I joined Midland/White City ABC and I learnt early on that resilience and determination was the only difference between me, and the many other kids who I lost to growing up as a young amateur. So, to anybody out there chasing dreams, if you want it enough you can get it.
“Thank you to my Mum and Dad, to Billy McKee, to Cooper McClure, to Jamie Moore and Nigel Travis, to MTK Global, to Ben Pilbeam and thinkBeyond Talent, to everyone that has supported me and played a part in my career over the last 27 years, big or small, and the biggest...”
