Majidov v Fedosov April 17th
April 17th.
Not saying Fedosov is a contender but I don't think I've seen many heavyweights take a tougher fight for their 4th outing.

At 34 he needs to get these sorts of fights in frequently and as soon as possible. He's in even more of an urgent position than Joyce was when he turned pro. Given that Majidov is going to get less attention than Joyce, his opponents won't be offered big money so I think we can expect more of the Fedosov-type opponents for him over the next year or two rather than a big name.

Nah is old and very experienced as an am. Has to move quick, basicaly needs to spend this heavy year positioning to try get a title shot when the belts fracture to shit.
Quick pro Starts Vary, loma arguably should of won a title 2nd fight, did third. Harder at heavy where the style is further from amateur boxing, but if you have boxed 15-20 years... surely some of your training you angles slightly more towards pro style.
Matador needs to take whatever the best name he can get is whenever he can get it.

I like this one, a decent test.
I'm at a loss as to how Delgado (Majidov's last opponent) passed a medical last year, the guy shouldn't have been in the ring, never mind in the ring with Majidov. We are very lucky that didn't end up with a worse ending.

maybe he could fight nick webb or simon kean or lucas browne or carlos negron next.....someone like that
should try to have 3 more fights this year after fedosov.....each one building on the other
at his age, he needs to be at a point where he's ranked and eligible for a title shot or nice eliminator next year

I was going to say Joe Joyce Vs Lenroy Thomas in his 4th fight was comparable, but then I remember Fedsov stopped Thomas in 3 rounds.

Joyce fighting Lewison and Thomas in his first 4 fights did show they were pushing him harder as he was older and had gone through WSB.
This young Aussie who’s 2-0 at the mo has had two 10 rounders against boxrec top 100 guys I think. Is there a heavyweight who springs to mind who’s been matched tough early like this?
I remember when Pulev was coming through his early fights seemed to be tougher than the usual lot but not as tough as the guys mentioned above.

Majidov Vs Zhang would be a decent one. Winner would get noticed and a step up to top 20 would be next. They both need a big fight and a big win quickly and are both with Matchroom I believe.

Yeah I wanted to see Majidov v Babic but you can see from a recent interview with Whyte and Babic together he will have an easy fight after his supposed shoulder injury and then likely fight Nick Webb.

i agree he'd beat the big bang zhang, i cant see maji being in with anyone much better than that next though. they might also look at jerry forrest, though beating zhang looks nicer on the record
although i do wonder if even with the crappy last performance from zhang, if they will still hold out and push him to getting a title shot. the whole Chinese hw fasination
