Channel 5 show starts at 10pm and ring walks are expected around that time. So is there no way for UK viewers to catch the undercard? Assume they will show at least highlights of the undercard fights after the main event on Channel 5?

Two Hungarian judges (from the same city) and an Italian.ThereByTheGrace wrote: ↑03 Apr 2021, 10:42 Who are the judges in the frampton fight?
That will be important
Italian ref.
So much for champion privilege.

Sad to see Carl go out in that fashion but 130 a step too far at his size plus the fact he was also past his prime, however well done to him on a great career, typically honest assessment from him on interview after the fight.
Congratulations to Herring also, very respectful guy who boxed to his strengths and closed the show effectively. Nice name for his resume too.

The writing was on the wall when he was wobbling all over the place v Warrington,a none puncher, who he beat to challenge for the title is another story.NoScoutingReports wrote: ↑05 Apr 2021, 09:42 Sad to see Carl go out in that fashion but 130 a step too far at his size plus the fact he was also past his prime, however well done to him on a great career, typically honest assessment from him on interview after the fight.

carl of the past would of beat herring, frampton just seemed out of his depht straight away reach and height of jamel was stopping carl from closing the distance to land his own shots, think i gave first 4 rds herring then the nasty cut on jamel eye seemed to breath life into frampton but as he got going ,he got dropped walking on to a shot, seemed shot worn carl still brave as anything but he was a fading light heart was there but body couldnt keep up great fighter, not sure what to make of herring i think stevension will beat him
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
Yes, that was how I felt going into this fight. Warrington was a division below and doesn't hit very hard at this level (he made absolutely no impression on Galahad two fights later) - but he looked positively dangerous against Frampton. Going up another weight class against a tall bloke who is huge for the weight, with Frampton forced to use his 34-year-old legs to get in and out of range, was always going to invite trouble.bigjack wrote: ↑05 Apr 2021, 09:47The writing was on the wall when he was wobbling all over the place v Warrington,a none puncher, who he beat to challenge for the title is another story.NoScoutingReports wrote: ↑05 Apr 2021, 09:42 Sad to see Carl go out in that fashion but 130 a step too far at his size plus the fact he was also past his prime, however well done to him on a great career, typically honest assessment from him on interview after the fight.

He looked a shell of himself. Herring still did a great job though.

that was herrings best performances, before id had him pegged as one of boxings worst champs. he looked totally inept back when hammered and stopped by shafikov, and still pretty shakey vs roach. not good vs oquendo either.
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
I think Frampton regressed since leaving Shane McGuigan - politics aside.
I think Shane McGuigan is a superior coach to Jamie Moore, whilst Moore seems to be a really sincere and sound individual.
Sad end for Frampton, it just hasn’t really happened for him since the Santa Cruz loss. I think the split from the McGuigans and the subsequent legal actions really affected him.

Shane encourages loads of sparring which I fully understand whilst Frampton’s done a lot less since being with Moore.liamlion wrote: ↑06 Apr 2021, 14:37 I think Frampton regressed since leaving Shane McGuigan - politics aside.

Yeah - I’m sure he did do sparring but he would have almost certainly done more with Shane. Whilst that can really sharpen fighters, sparring 100s of rounds in camp will shorten careers.brilo33 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2021, 15:46but i heard carl speak after, he said sparring went well before this fight , he is battled scared ,though he and herring are in the same age group carl has been in wars catches up to yamaverick23 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2021, 15:09Shane encourages loads of sparring which I fully understand whilst Frampton’s done a lot less since being with Moore.liamlion wrote: ↑06 Apr 2021, 14:37 I think Frampton regressed since leaving Shane McGuigan - politics aside.

the thing is father time caught up with frampton, and he has had a fantastic career and will go down as a great in his era , but he fought on maybe 3 fights to many i think but who are we to say , i dont think he could of done much more in that fight, for where he was atmaverick23 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2021, 16:02Yeah - I’m sure he did do sparring but he would have almost certainly done more with Shane. Re: Carl Frampton vs. Jamel Herring - 3 April 2021
Statement
Frampton said: “Only those closest to me know that, win, lose or draw with Jamel Herring, I was planning to retire. I made a promise to myself and to my wife and kids – the most important people in my life – that whatever the result, that was my last one.
“When I look back on my career I have achieved more than I could have ever imagined. Celtic, Commonwealth and European titles, winning my first world title at home in a purpose-built arena, the sold-out nights defending that title at the Odyssey, unifying a division, defeating a top ten pound for pound guy, winning a title in a second division against the odds, Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year, MBE, and fulfilling a dream by fighting and winning in front of a packed Windsor Park.
“For me though, my biggest career achievement has been my fan base and support. I can’t express how thankful I am to the army of fans who made those nights in the Odyssey so atmospheric, the 16,000 that saw me win my first title at home on that special night, the 15,000 who travelled to Manchester the night we took over and I unified, and the thousands that travelled to the States to watch me fight a great champion in Leo Santa Cruz.
“As a fighter, the support has been my biggest and proudest accomplishment. The outpouring of respect that I have received since my defeat to Herring has been immense and I thank all who have said kind words to me. They fill me with a huge sense of pride.
“None of this would have been possible without the support of my beautiful wife Christine and my amazing children, Carla and Rossa. Christine has made sacrifices that I am eternally grateful for; giving up on her own aspirations to allow me to fulfil mine, supporting me financially at the start when I had nothing, and supporting me emotionally throughout my career without ever asking for anything in return. I owe her so much and now I would love to help her chase her own dreams.
“As much as my family, I cannot forget the people, city and nation that I have come from. My sense of belonging, my roots and the community have always uplifted me and given me so much. It is my turn now to repay some of that and to take on the new challenge of helping others as they have helped me in the past.
“I was 7 years old when I joined Midland/White City ABC and I learnt early on that resilience and determination was the only difference between me, and the many other kids who I lost to growing up as a young amateur. So, to anybody out there chasing dreams, if you want it enough you can get it.
“Thank you to my Mum and Dad, to Billy McKee, to Cooper McClure, to Jamie Moore and Nigel Travis, to MTK Global, to Ben Pilbeam and thinkBeyond Talent, to everyone that has supported me and played a part in my career over the last 27 years, big or small, and the biggest...”
