Has he not fought since Chavez?
Totally honest opinion.
I don’t find his fights appealing. I don’t find them a good watch either.
Every fight he has, the only build up they use is that he’s a miracle man etc.
His fighting style is not for me.

Jacobs has become a member of the "who needs you club?".Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 Apr 2021, 08:37 Has he not fought since Chavez?

He's already had his shot at GGG and Canelo. He won't receive a second opportunity to face those guys.
He isn't receiving another title shot anytime soon (at 168lbs or below), but apparently he intends to continue competing at that weight.
So I honestly don't know.
I think he needs a big win to move to the front of the title shot queue.
Perhaps he can face Benavidez or Smith? And maybe he can persuade Charlo and Andrade to leave their 160lbs comfort zone and face him at 168lbs?
Benavidez would be a good fit for Jacobs, because I reckon Smith will move to 175lbs. And there's no motivation for unbeaten fighters like Charlo and Andrade to risk their zero's when they're already near the front of the Canelo lottery-winning payday queue.
Benavidez has shot himself in the foot a couple of times, as he seems intent on sabotaging his own career. A victory over Jacobs would rejuvenate his flagging career.
Edit: I forgot that Jacobs is now a free agent. He's not exactly hot property right now and I don't expect to see any promoters banging at his door begging him to join their stables.
Re: What is next for Danny Jacobs
Good way to put it EO. "The Who needs you" club part especially.
He seems like one of those guys who's fairly high risk for not much reward, and he's already lost his 2 biggest fights so people aren't seen as ducking him if they don't fight him because fans aren't exactly clamoring to see him.

He's pointless.

I don’t want to be too critical of him as he’s been in some very good fights and is a very good fighter. Canelo - Jacobs is my favourite of his and I genuinely think it’s a great watch...However, I get what you are saying, He likes himself a boxing chess match and is good enough to make that happen. In addition to making everything a chess match, he stays in the one gear throughout the fight. It’s frustrating to watch, especially when you are watching a chess match with Gabe Rosado.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 Apr 2021, 08:37 Has he not fought since Chavez?

It was Canelo that made the fight what it was. The slipping and the shots etc.lazboy wrote: ↑07 Apr 2021, 17:09I don’t want to be too critical of him as he’s been in some very good fights and is a very good fighter. Jacob’s was in one gear that fight too.. like he didn’t push for the win. Not go out on his shield.
Didn’t seem too bothered about losing as the fight itself made him a multimillionaire.

At this point he should retire imo.
Re: What is next for Danny Jacobs
I thought he put out a tremendous effort against someone (Canelo) so skilled and strong. At times he made Canelo look human. Jacobs also seems to fight to the level of his op and has lacked enthusiasm in some of his recent fights. I'd like to see him against one of the top hyped opponents like Charlo or Benavidez. I'd like to see Jacobs get motivated and a hyped up opponent may do this. However I acknowledged that more often than not he slows fights down and seems to be in cruise control, which is less than entertaining.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 Apr 2021, 18:55It was Canelo that made the fight what it was.
