Press Release | Savannah Marshall vs. Maria Lindberg Now Set For Benn-Vargas
Savannah Marshall will now defend her WBO middleweight title against four-time world title challenger Maria Lindberg this weekend.
The fight takes place on the undercard of Conor Benn’s clash with Samuel Vargas at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday, live on Sky Sports and DAZN.
Marshall (9-0, 7 KOs) was originally due to defend her title against Femke Hermans, but Hermans was forced to withdraw after a member of her team tested positive for COVID.
Instead she will now put her belt on the line against Sweden’s Lindberg (19-6-2, 10 KOs), who in her career has challenged for world honours against the likes of Christina Hammer, Ema Kozin and Marie Eve Dicaire.
Marshall won the title in her last fight, picking up a seventh round stoppage victory over Hannah Rankin at Wembley Arena in October.

Fair play Margaret Thatcher you've made your opinion on Vargas crystal clear multiple times.
But I don't think Benn is anywhere near the level or talent of Vergil Ortiz Jr. I'll come back here and sing your praises if Benn gives Vargas a pasting and stops him.
But I feel Vargas might just give Benn a very tough time and Benn will scrape to a points win.
You could be bang on the money but my opinion is you're overrating Benn and under rating Vargas. Hes hardly world class but he's not a club level fighter either.

Fully agree with this. That’s not to say Benn won’t look great against Vargas but there’s enough doubt that he won’t that makes this a pretty good fight.black panther wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 05:30 Fair play Margaret Thatcher you've made your opinion on Vargas crystal clear multiple times.

Up until Formella there weren’t many of us that thought Benn was anything special.

Is there what now? People that think Benn may be special? The Iron Lady herself predicts a world title for him which given how strong a division welterweight is I think that would mean he’s pretty special.mickey1975 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 05:51Is there now?maverick23 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 05:41Fully agree with this. Surprised theyre interviewing Ring Card girls during the presser. Not sure why they needed to fly one over from Oz either.
I'm all for eye candy but don't need to hear it speak.
Re: Conor Benn vs. Samuel Vargas - 10 April 2021
If its not the shittest undercard on a sky show this year it's certainly a contender.

Savannah Marshall the best female fighter in The Uk, and not getting a mention at the presser because the other girls are blonde?

Yep - it’s their worst by a long way. I don’t mind women fights but having 2 world title fights is a bit much when there is just an average Kash Farooq (who I really like) fight on there.
Sky’s other 3 undercards have been pretty good so far this year.
Re: Conor Benn vs. Samuel Vargas - 10 April 2021
That Formella fight has really got people on the Benn train. Formella just came to survive.

Bridges was all covered up..
It was Courtenay who had a few buttons undonee.

Bridges did have a point when she called Courtenay out on slating her for weighing in in a certain type of underwear but on her Instagram a year ago doing live videos where she just pouts and flicks her hair in a ‘sign me up Givenchy’ kinda way.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 12:50 Bridges was all covered up..

I think Savannah Marshall wasn’t there today because the new opponents been drawn in at a few days notice and isn’t even here yet and it would look wrong with just one person there but I may be wrong.
On the standard of this card I think it’s definitely the worst this year and possible the worst of the last few years on Sky.

Ignore my middle point above I’ve just watched Savannah’s part of the press conference so her and her opponent were there.

Just watched a few of Bens fights back to back , must say i think thev e done a great job with him , hes improving every fight and considering his lack of ameteur experience , he really has come a long way ,,,however Elite he is,nt i think he,s quite a way of the real top guys just yet , but i do enjoy watching him proress , personally i would,nt be in too much of a rush with him

I was looking at Bridges. I assume her breasts are implants? I genuinely wonder how much they weigh. No silliness. It must be a pound or two which she could use for muscle weight.jameswilson wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 13:28Bridges did have a point when she called Courtenay out on slating her for weighing in in a certain type of underwear but on her Instagram a year ago doing live videos where she just pouts and flicks her hair in a ‘sign me up Givenchy’ kinda way.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑08 Apr 2021, 12:50 Bridges was all covered up..

the hottest one in that pic by miles is the big bird in the middle, the one who loves the cameras even more than the other 2

Just watched one of Bridges' fight on YouTube...great peace of match making. Shes brought attention and Shannon is going to outclass her. She is so slow, complete novice...Shannon will look world class to a new viewer
