Dana White once said women would never, NEVER fight in the UFC, now the women are flying in popularity in the UFC and White has changed his tune to "These women are world class fighters and some of the guys I talk to belong in the 1920s the way they talk about these women"

Wow, Dana White succumbed to PC culture.... Or when given a chance, women can actually be world class fighters that people enjoy watching

For me because UFC is a bit of a circus, I think the women make better clowns! So I enjoy watching them more!

I'd like to see the viewing figures for women's boxing and UFC. Ronda Rousey is the one who made women's UFC popular, largely because she was attractive and good at what she did. Then they tried to change her into a striker and she got annihilated. Wasn't she on the Ring magazine cover saying she was the one to save boxing or something odd? That had to be a high level troll. Its hard to deny there is an agenda though - boxing shows are full of women presenters who know nothing about boxing, the last BT show being a great example. I have no interest in women's boxing really, if I see an article in Boxing News, it always goes unread.

I think Rousey put a lot of bums on seats and made White a fortune with her only getting a relatively small cut, the same as McGregor really.

I agree. I was a bit hesitant when the UFC created the women's divisions because I knew the talent pool was so shallow. Now, Amanda Nunes is one of the most exciting fighters they have. The top 5 in their divisions are generally pretty good and many of them provide good value in terms of entertainment. The depth is not has good as the men's UFC divisions but given the sport has only been promoted on an equal stage as the men's sport for less then 10 years you'd have to say it has improved dramatically since then.

This can apply to boxing. There are a few, just a few, decent female boxers. They might not have the power or excitement as you get in the men's divisions but you have to give them credit where credit is due and give them a chance to develop the sport.

Also, Dana White the big woke goof campaigned for Trump. Interesting that.

Rousey was one dimensional and the talent level was just terrible at that time. The talent level in womens combat sports is generally terrible. Nunes and Shevchenko are good.

I pick and choose which women's boxing I watch. There are some decent women fighters but the depth's not there and this Courtenay v Bridges scuffle is a good demonstration of that.
I'll happily watch Taylor, Harper, Marshall, Shields etc but I don't have a great deal of interest in seeing two women swinging wildly with little or no skill. That lass that Courtenay fought last time was completely hopeless and unfortunately, until the talent pool grows, there are too many of those kicking about women's boxing.

I'll watch Courtenay v Bridges though, if only to see Bridges TKO (Tit Knock Out) the unlikeable chav.

I have never been a fan of women boxing, or any sort of fighting to be fair.
Whilst I appreciate and acknowledge the effort they no doubt put in ... I cant think of one woman boxer who is better than a British .. or for that matter, area title level man at the weight.
Typically its two very amateurish and very limited skilled women swinging away awkwardly at each other.

Each to their own though. Its not something Id bother to watch. But if they making money then good luck to them.
It is nice to read the story about someone like Terry Harper who worked in a fish & chip shop with limited opportunities, who is now able to earn money she could have only dreamed of.

It's tragic but both boxing and UFC are becoming like one of those scripted reality shows. Like Jersey Shore. There is some reality in it but it's scripted and manipulated by the director (in the UK the director is called Eddie Hearn.)

she was one dimensional but she beat two women who beat the shit out of Nunes in about a combined 20 seconds, so not a completely manufactured record, her Judo and Jiu Jitsu were world class

Nunez much improved since then of course, but people seem to forget that, Cat Zingano beat the shit out of Nunes and Rousey beat her in 14 seconds with a beautiful inverted armbar, so Nunez was around in Rouseys 'prime' she was just getting beat by girls who went on to get beat by Rousey, and she improved to be the best in the world, the talent pool didn't just suddenly change overnight

Katie Taylor etc will inspire young girls into boxing and if they can make money professionally more will turn over and we will have better fights

The talent pool in women's boxing will increase, and over time so will the quality of the fights. We're just at an early stage in its development.

Alexis Davis knocked out Nunes and Rhonny knocked out Davis in 16 seconds

Like I said, different time different fighters but people have went from overrating Rousey to the stars to suddenly claiming she was complete trash who beat nobody

Yes, and she was a horrific loser, all of the smoke blown up her by White and Joe Rogan and the media didn't help for sure but she couldn't handle defeat at all and her horrific attitude turned most people off

Said it before many times , don't like it and i don't watch it, BUT its here to stay, and stay it will , UNTIL the punters which is YOU stop buying it ,, does anyone really believe that Hearns is putting this shite on , because he wants to be the godfather of womens boxing , that he's on a crusade for the betterment of women , if you believe that , I've found a bridge in LONDON FOR SALE .

No the reason is he's found a novelty act , he's got some half pretty girl from somewhere in the UK and looked hard and found a Aussie girl with big tits to throw in with her , , get them to weigh in , in there knickers and bra and presto he's got a cheap support fight,,, for his magnificent PPV featuring , the son of a british legend who's been hand fed stiffs for 5 years fighting a punch bag ,, , he's found a way to sell you PPV for whats no more than a british level fight , supported by 2 women who to be honest would be be more entertaining if thery got into the ring dressed in there knickers and bra , and rolled around in a tub of jelly .

Too be honest , at first i thought Hearn was the best thing to happen to british boxing in years , but now he's just a smooth talking car salesman , who thinks he can rule the boxing world and take over globaly , his ego is out of control and he's turning British boxing into a WWF type circus , and whats more the british are lapping it up , thank fook you still have the likes of Cheeseman to give you entertaining fights ,,, When will it stop , thats easy ,, has soon has you all stop paying to see the crap .

Vote with your wallets , stop buying it , If big tits Bridges wants to earn good money let her get a job , modelling bra's and knickers , , if Benn wants to be a millionare , can't blame him , but let him learn the trade before you make him a star , after all PPV should be saved for when he's fighting a star not a punchbag , and a punchbag who may even beat him although i doubt it ,,, PPV is for the Lomenchenko's , Paccy's , GGG ,'s and Canelo's of the world , not a British perhaps commonwelth level fighter ,

Still don't bother me cos i will not pay for it , i'll watch a stream , and when the women come on , unless there semi naked in a tub of jelly , i'll take that time to go eat my weetbix and make a coffee .

Wanna stop the circus , send it broke , don't buy the tickets
