Willie Pep vs Salvador Sanchez

In the red corner: Willie Pep - Record: 3-0-0 (2) - Career Stage: Prime - Conditioning: Top Condition - Trainer: Kevin Cunningham - Cut Man: Ralph Citro
In the blue corner: Salvador Sanchez - Record: 2-1-0 (2) - Career Stage: Adjusted to 'Pre-Prime' - Conditioning: Top Condition - Trainer: Ray Arcel - Cut Man: Pete Brodsky
Congrats to Pep, but how come Sanchez career stage was "Adjusted to 'Pre-Prime'"? Are guys not always in their prime? Landing a punch on Willie is hard enough as it is!

This MAY well have been an error on my part....It is my intent to bring all fighters to these events in their "prime". I may have flipped the wrong switch here. Now...their "condition" is something I do not interfere with....it is random, and I take no steps to interfere with fate.

So.....May I make a suggestion? We can run this one back next week.....in which case I will intervene and place Pep in the "pre prime" stage...and Sanchez as "prime". AND I will insure they are both in top condition. If that is acceptable we can plan on it....if not next week, perhaps at some future date. Is that acceptable to both camps? Let me know.

P.S. In my ever so important current rankings I find them both currently to be in the "good" catagory. As neither are really that bad....especially compared to Jem Driscoll....and they are both rather dapper looking fellas.....thus far.

It is absolutely not acceptable to my camp that you try to book my fights for me. The conditioning is random as you say. It's not my fault that my guy randomly comes more prepared than others because he's more disciplined in general.

Though I will say I don't recall ever having seen "Pre Prime" or "Needs Paycheck" listed as conditioning status before.

We're still pretty much at the start of the season so teething issues of this nature are to be expected, and there's so much time ahead to bounce back anyway. With that in mind we'll graciously pass on the idea of de-priming Pep for an immediate rematch, with the caveat that we insist this week's result is in some way asterisked.

To be fair to Sanch though, there was nothing wrong with his discipline / conditioning, his chances of success just got nerfed by some bizarre Benjamin Buttonesque, time-anomaly funny business. But that's not Pep's fault of course, can only beat what is in front of him, etc etc. But yeah, we're better off saving rematch talk until the stakes are higher I think.

I leave conditioning to the gods.....however I am in charge of the "prime" designation. And I goofed it on that one. So at some point...we may want to attempt to even that out. But...that's up to you two....I never impose...I simply make suggestions.
