What happen if Dick Tiger fight the 1980s middleweights?
I would like to know what happens if Dick Tiger ever fought in the time of "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran, Iran Barkley, Frank Tate, Michael Nunn, Sumbu Kalumbay, Alan Minter, Mustafa Hamsho, Fulgencio Obelmejias, William "Caveman" Lee, Robbie Sims, Tony Sibson, Wilford Scypion, Juan Domingo Roldan, John Mugabi, James Shuler, Herol Graham, Julian Jackson, and Mike McCallum?

I'd fancy Tiger against most of that list. He was durable and had great stamina. He couldn't always find the one punch KO but still...
Hagler, Hearns and McCallum would all probably beat him. Nunn would possibly beat him too. I would imagine Leonard, Kalambay and Graham bothering him but I'd expect Dick to win those. I think he beats everyone else.

I don't think Ray had the legs at 160 to fight 15 fierce rounds with Tiger. Ray was getting on by the time he got to MW and he'd be facing a very strong man who could fight all night.
I agree that he's faster. I imagine he'd be taking rounds early on but Tiger would apply more pressure than Hagler could. Tiger's punch output would be higher and he'd be fighting a guy naturally smaller than him. Alan Sugar, who sparred a lot with Tiger, often talks about Tiger's strength and I think this would have a big outcome on the fight.kovit wrote:Leonard still have a legs and he still have the fast hands than Tiger because you ignored his ability.
I rate Leonard highly but I don't think he was a great MW. He was a good MW, maybe very good, but I think Tiger eventually overruns him.
Haven't seen that one, Woller, but wasn't there some controversy regarding the decision?Woller wrote:SRL against Dick Tiger could be something like the first Emile Griffith v Tiger fight. The lighter and faster man jabbing and moving and getting a close decision.
Woller
I also think Griffith was a better MW than Leonard. It's a close fight though.
