How far had Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua's career progressed a decade after they took up the sport of boxing in 2005 and 2007, respectively?
And also, if Efe Ajagba is just a young raw novice learning his trade, then why has the calibre of his opposition gradually declined over the last four or five bouts?
Efe Ajagba’s next opponent is worse than anyone he’s fought over the last couple of years, because Howard is on the cusp of turning 41 years of age, is also a small cruiserweight (borderline 175lb-er) that’s suffered three KO losses during the five bouts he’s competed in within the last 3½ years.
Let's not forget that Efe Ajagba has been competing in the pro ranks for almost four years, but you could easily argue that he's still mixing with the same calibre of opposition he was matched against in 2018.
Apart from Filip Hrgovic, I can't think of any active heavily-hyped prospects competing as a pro since 2017 (or earlier) that are still engaging in outrageously horrendous mismatches.
The Nigerian's career is progressing at a speed that's slower than an iceberg!![]()
I found a different amateur record
The same spiel was widely and repeatedly conveyed by his promoter during 2017.
Google the numbers I quoted and you’ll find loads of sources confirming the same info.
