Victor Paul of Nigeria

I am interested in researching Victor Paul's Nigerian career prior to him coming to the UK in 1968. I am also interested in researching Nigerian boxing from this time more generally. Does anyone know of any Nigerian historians or Nigerian newspaper resources (other than the British Library). Also is there a Nigerian commission that I could maybe contact?

I've never come across any digitized archives, unfortunately. As far as historians go, you might want to contact Adeyinka Makinde who wrote a biography of Dick Tiger in 2005:
