Amir Khan v Conor Benn?

Post by MasterG »

So Amir is getting a bit vocal towards Conor which usually means there is a potential grudge match up.

So is there a chance of this happening and do you think Amir has a chance against Benn at this stage of his boxing life?

Doubt it, unless Khan needs the money.

con might get lit up early but would ko him in the end, i think khan is pretty much done and even if he came back he'd have little ambition to actually win

I have to admit I'd love this fight. So many interesting angles to it. And it would definitely be big enough for a good Khan payday. I think bigger than Brook.

I think Benn's age, fitness, desire and ambition would win it for him, Khan isn't improving but Benn is.

I’d favour Benn but only slightly, Kahn gives everyone a tough night till they chin him... the question is, is there the money in it yet, I doubt it. Kahn wants retirement cash.
Still I’d like to see Connor throw Kahn an official offer if he wants it. Then throw one to Brook too, then a sneaky one for Jeff horn (stadium fight in aus where Connor grew up)..

NOPE , No way would Benn , --- Horn sell well in Aust ,, Aussie all know that Horn is finished , he's literally well and truly been overcooked ,,, Tell you what would do very good numbers in Aust , would have to be catch weight though , that would be Benn ---- Tim Tzyu or Benn versus Zarafa ,,, who is calling Tzyu out with a million dollar offer at the moment ..... In fact would like to see Bennn ---- Zarafa , be a good tear up while it lasted , and Benn would get hit back ,,,,

Thats why it would never happen ..... writings on the wall with Benn ,, keep him busy , take no chances , call out everyone they know will not take it and fleece the PPV wonder if Hearn would actually take it if Khan upped and said yes or woul;d he use Khans demands for a big payday scupper the fight

Khan wouldn’t take this fight. It’s not his style. Conor wouldn’t be a big enough name in his eyes (yet).

Not sure Conor would beat Khan just yet unless Khan is really past his best days? Khan has too much ring craft.....cannot see this fight happening either but would love it too

Did no one see Khan against Crawford - He's finished and just wants a final payday.

Screw this for a PPV fight, because that's what it would be - And there starts Benn's PPV career.

I've watched the weekend's fight a few times and for such a short fight, there are an awful lot of promising things to be seen in Benn, his timing was superb, great shot selection, faints, fast hands and some serous power at the weight.

I didn't see it live so when I heard the result I assumed he'd got a bit lucky, gone in swinging (like the old boy) and caught Vargas a bit cold, but he was actually patient, created the openings and exploited them.

I reckon he'd dismantle Khan right now.

That’s the ridiculous thing about Eddie and his PPV merry go round - once you’re on it you never have to get off it until you retire. Losses or taking less important fights have no bearing on the matter - you’re a PPV lifer.

benn is shite. cant see why no one says it.. when he goes in with anyone with ambition and a punch, he's a gonner. ppv my arse....kongo and kelly would beat him easy, avanesyian would execute him.

Khan is a washed up has been and knows he gets smashed to the canvas if he takes this , so he will just make up excuses like he has done for a long time know .

He is much more likely to fight Kell Brook I think .

Josh Kelly would look like prime Roy Jones Jr if he fought Samuel Vargas. What does it mean though?

Won't happen unless Eddie gets some serious reddies out.

Kahn v Brook is more likely.

Ideally Benn could do with another impressive performance or a big win (Avanesyan would get everyone's attention).

There's no marketing spin in taking on Avanesyan, even Conor's critics would have to concede it would be a genuine acid test.

Whether he beats Avanesyan or not is another story....

Do you think Benn - Khan would be bigger? I actually do. Brook seems a bit battered and forgotten now.
