I’m looking forward to this one but my concern is the level of opposition Liam Williams has been fighting and whether it’s prepared him well enough for Andrade.

I know Andrade hasn’t been fighting high level opponents either but has anyone Williams has fought since the rematch with Liam Smith got any credible wins on their records? Heffron had a fairly padded record and has shown he’s not quite British level, Mullender and Robinson are area level fighters and I’m not aware of a good win for either Achour/Fox.

Have any of these properly prepared him for the step up against a tricky southpaw?

Fight nobodies and get into a mandatory position, clearly haven’t had the right fights and lose when you step up.

Those fights also showed his limit Mickey - I think h'es got his work cut out with this one. Andrade has his faults too but he's a better boxer than Williams by quite some margin.

There is a noticeable size difference too.

Williams is on a good roll, but as has been rightly pointed out, the opposition has been area to British level at best.

Predictions: Andrade vs Williams

Scott Christ (22-6-1)

I really like Liam Williams and think he has a shot here, but it’s going to go one way or the other. Either he’ll be able to put the heat on Andrade and make him uncomfortable, giving himself a real shot to win this fight, or Andrade will be too slick and too skilled. I also think there’s a far better than normal chance we see a truly inspired Andrade coming to do damage and make a statement. These guys have talked a lot. And I think at 33, Andrade knows the clock is ticking fast on getting that Big Fight at 160 or 168. If he wins here, there is no good reason to not do Golovkin-Andrade at 160 unless GGG just retires out of the blue. I think Andrade will prove to be too good on the night (early evening, really), but Williams will have some pockets of success and make it a decent fight. Something like 9-3 Andrade. Andrade UD-12

Wil Esco (23-5-1)

I’ll keep this short. I’m still waiting for Demetrius Andrade to get that elite level fight so we can finally end any debate as to how good he actually is. As for this fight though, I have no real reservations about Andrade being much more talented and just generally better than Williams, and I think that’ll prove itself evident once the bell rings. I’m not predicting a flashy performance from Andrade that’s going to make everyone say ‘wow’ but I do think he’ll definitively win on the scorecards since he’s not th type to press for a knockout. Andrade UD-12

Patrick L. Stumberg (21-7-1)

The million-dollar question for Williams is whether he can consistently get past Andrade’s ridiculous reach, and the answer seems to be “only if Andrade wants him to.” While Williams was able to walk down the likes of Alantez Fox, Andrade boasts a level of distance management, footwork, and head movement that “The Machine” has never dealt with. Even if Andrade can’t cow Williams with an early knockdown like he did Maciej Sulecki, Williams hasn’t demonstrated the skills necessary to shut down “Boo Boo’s” long-range offense if Andrade doesn’t voluntarily elect to throw leather.

Even if Williams does manage to find his way inside and get some work in, Andrade isn’t the sort to crumble when things get hairy; he’s more than able to knuckle down and slug it out if it’s the best or only option. Unable to handle Andrade at a distance and highly unlikely to decisively turn the tables during his brief stints in the pocket, Williams’ first title bid ends in a wide 8-4, 9-3 sort of decision loss. Andrade UD-12

Lewis Watson (23-5-1)

Williams has been a different animal up at middleweight. He’s aggressive, carries power and is tough as they come, but it’s hard to see a one-dimensional attacking gameplan breaking “Boo Boo”. Andrade is slick and a competent counter-puncher and doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who is going to let his heart rule his head and become embroiled in a brawl. Williams will want that, but after a spirited start, I can see him getting picked off by the champion in tight, competitive rounds. Andrade is far too slippery to fall into a Williams trap. Andrade UD-12

Matchroom confirm a three-show UK radio deal that includes coverage of Canelo vs Billy Joe Saunders

BBC Radio 5 Live will broadcast three huge fight nights live on the radio, kicking off this weekend with Demetrius Andrade defending his WBO World Middleweight title against Liam Williams in Florida on Saturday night, then from Manchester on May 1 with the stacked card led by the Heavyweight clash between Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker and Katie Taylor’s undisputed Lightweight defence against Natasha Jonas, and the blockbuster World Super-Middleweight unification clash between Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders from Texas on May 8.

Andrade (29-0 18 KOs) puts his title on the line for the fourth time against Welsh mandatory challenger Williams (23-2-1 18 KOs) and fight fans in the UK will be able to tune into the crunch battle from 11pm GMT on the BBC on Saturday night.

On May 1, it’s a huge night of action in Manchester as Heavyweight favourite Chisora (32-10 3 KOs) faces former World ruler Parker (28-2 21 KOs), undisputed World Lightweight champion Taylor (17-0 6 KOs) defends her titles against Jonas (9-1-1 7 KOs) in a rematch of their 2012 Olympic scrap and WBA World Light-Heavyweight king Dmitry Bivol (17-0 11 KOs) defends his crown against Londoner Crag Richards (16-1-1 9 KOs).

One week later, the biggest fight of the year so far takes place at the home of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas as pound-for-pound king Alvarez (55-1-2 37 KOs) battles unbeaten Briton Saunders (30-0 14 KOs) for the WBC, WBA Super, WBO and Ring Magazine straps at 168lbs.

Williams is a good fighter and he’s a live underdog. I just think he’s underprepared based on recent fights going in to this.

When is it and what time are the ring walks?

Despite the fight taking place in Florida, the card is being broadcast to suit UK viewers with the undercard starting at around 8pm BST while the main event will take place between 10.30pm and 11pm.

i think williams has a good chance due to andrade not having much action latley , if he can draw andra in to fight and land a shot early he can win as the boy has fire in his belly, but if andrade is on point he should be able to win this wide on points , i think andrade points win but go on liam boy

Andrade has a habit of starting fast, scoring early knockdowns, looking like he might put in a performance then switches into autopilot, done against Kautondokwa, Sulecki and Keeler, if he coasts against Williams he could get his clock cleaned
