Benn v Vargas stoppage

I thought it was clearly too early. Vargas took several big shots flush, didn't fire back for a good 10 or 15 seconds under fire and didn't have his balance, but a) he doesn't have great balance anyway, b) he was still blocking most of it and c) he wasn't exactly on spaghetti legs. Yes it might have got that way before long, but much too early to know that enough to stop it.

It was a British stoppage, somewhere between Froch v Groves 1 and Enzo v Mackenzie.

Considering where Vargas's hands were he was not ready to go or out on his feet defenceless. You have to let that go on for me

There was one shot that went in and the head of Vargas snapped back. You know the one's where it looks like the fighter is defenseless. I think the ref made his mind up at that point.

It was a fair stoppage, but Vargas could have continued on. I think he was caught cold and didn't do a great job of covering up the following salvo, but that is Vargas.

It was round one so he should’ve been given more time. If the same scenario happened after an 8 round beating I would say it was ok. Fighters are often a bit vulnerable in the first round.

Vargas didn't exactly help either.. I did think it was early, or he could have been given an 8 count as ropes may have been hoding him u,p.

Personaly i think it was a good stoppage, he was brought to lose , not get brain damage, he,s not got it any more ,if in fact he ever had it , the stoppage was fair he was,nt out but he was,nt trying to fight back either,, He ,s a pro he kows what to do , if your jumped early like that caught cold , and over whelmed its simple take a knee get given some time to compose , Nope fair call for me
