I can already see Frank saying "How can Joshua hold all the belts when Dubois became the WBA Heavyweight Champion In June. If Joshua wants to be the champion he's going to have to challenge Daniel for the belt".

Dinu might give him a little bit of trouble before getting KO'd. Dinu is an ok technical boxer but he has no power and chin/heart. Would be one of the best wins Dubois has on his records though.

I am a fan. I was rooting for Joyce, but I just wanted the best boxer to win on the night.

I don’t think DDD was ready based on previous fights and experience, and also I don’t like when there’s a huge hype train, this wasn’t all entirely down to DDD.

But it’s nice that fans can get behind him, he’s still very young.

The WBA interim belt will be his way into a future world title fight.

yea i get what your saying, but with boxing you have to get a hype train behind fighters as in reailty it isnt a huge sport outside the top fighters , but thats when you can sit back and think nah never fancied him and i could see that happening if you get what iam saying

Wow, so this is why they had Dinu so high in the wba ranks, to be fed to Dubios on his return. I don’t know how frank got that done (bags of cash or hand jobs) but ya have to give him some credit for getting dubios both an easy comeback fight, and a world title fight at the same time...

*WBA reg is trash, so it’s the interim for trash, but, it is quite a nice trinket for a young lad, and it should like him up with more nice fights in the future.

Interestingly Joyce isn’t in the WBA top 15 according to their website

I know they don't put the WBA Gold champion in their rankings as they consider that another of their "World Champions".
I'd assume Joyce wasn't ranked whenever he had that and at the point he relinquished/got stripped they either forgot about him or had no financial benefit to put him back in.

In their eyes the winner of this fight will be one of their 5 World champions.......how can anybody keep a straight face when they tell you that's how their organisation operates

Joyce has been hyped since he turned pro. I think his Am career deserved some fanfare coming into the pro game.
Also he survived some of DD's best shots. Yes he was behind on most cards, but he did the job in the end.

Joyce has been hyped since he turned pro. I think his Am career deserved some fanfare coming into the pro game.
Also he survived some of DD's best shots. Yes he was behind on most cards, but he did the job in the end.

Wba reg belt is perfect for Ddd people are saying it’s a path to super champ mando, I don’t think that’s the goal, I think he wants wba reg belt and defend that for a couple of years while he improves. Knows he isn’t ready yet.

Even though real fans no reg belt is trash, billing his fights as world title fights will massively boost there profile.

Dinu is a decent opponent to comeback to after a stoppage defeat. He’s likely easy to hit though which will be his undoing. And then the U.K. has three heavyweight champions lol.

But his record looks decent - until you look who he has faced; the results of the guys he last fought .. and the records of the guys with the best records he won against.

Whilst its expected to have an easy come back fight with no risks to build his confidence back up - it is however a fight Dubois is unlikely to learn anything from.

If Dubois comes out with intent, then Dinu will quit within the round. Trash contest.

Bit harsh on Dinu not being capable of enough resistance for DDD to learn. Dinu has won rounds vs miller and vs pulev. he would be arguably DDDs best win (although id rate gorman as DDDs best win still).

Does definatly seem to have some quit in him though, didnt want it vs miller in the end.

side not* I will say the pulev "Quit" wasnt real quitting, it was trying to get a DQ win, steal a mandatory slow, and make 5 million to fight AJ, hard to blame him for trying to wriggle his way into retirement. (I personaly think he should of got the DQ win on the first knock down in round 7, pulev swung and missed multiple attempted puches to back of the head, then pulev pulled his head down then proper punched him strait back of the head, then he took a knee and pulev hits him back of the head again while he was down, clearly intentional, way worse than a point to me)

he does have a bit of that 'folds when under fire' thing to him, but if he comes out motivated he can pose some threat to ddd before dubois starts landing big. i do expect a dub ko in the first half though because i just dont think dinu is the type of guy to wither fire

I hope that is the game plan, because I question whether it is a smart move positioning Dubois so high up the ranking. I'm glad he is making a come back, and I think Dinu is a good opponent for him. But it will still only be his 17th pro fight (+ limited amateur experience), and they are trying to position him near the top of the WBA rankings. It kind of feels like they have not learnt anything from rushing him up the WBO ladder.

To me it looks like Warren is just trying to figure out the next quickest route to a money fight with Joshua
