Some would say that this applies to Bill F Gates. I could mention some things about myself without any proof if they are truthful or not and if taken as true theyd give quite the impression that I have been very successful in life. Then I could mention other things which would give the opposite impression. As for you I haven't really drawn any big conclusions but I can't imagine that you've been any big success in life.

I can only assume from your curious response that you misunderstood the nature of my query. For the record I wasn't sniping or even criticising you, I just felt that from the impression I had formed, that your words probably shouldn't be taken ar face value.

As to your question, success is relative isn't it? I can afford to retire but my job pays well, is moderately interesting and isn't too demanding, so I choose to wait for my next Christmas bonus and decide then whether to hang 'em up or give it at least one more year . I can't claim to be wealthy but I owe nothing, and have a decent retirement fund. I've helped my kids buy their own houses. I have plenty of free time to indulge my pleasures and interests and I'm generally content and free from stress. Bill Gates I ain't but I'm not complaining.

Just imagine how dull it would be if everyone on the forum were sensible, mature, kept a sense of perspective, and knew what they were talking about.

Boxtune is quite the opposite, but I find his irrepressible exuberance rather refreshing. He is always the source (butt) of hilarity and is a valued forum member in that court-jester role. In my opinion anyway.
