Aaron Pryor versus Roberto Duran April 1981

Post by goose 5 »

This one almost happened-at the last minute, Pryor refused to sign. Who would have won-12 rounds, 147 lbs.

A year ealier Duran would whoop Pryor, but exactly in 1981 it would be harder to predict. Duran lost his passion and shape after winning Leonard.

Duran first fight at 154lbs was on August 10, 1981 against Nino Gonzalez I believe.

Pryor refused to sign. This is the entire story.....and it is etched in stone. Hands of Stone that is.

No sense signing your own death certificate. He and his management team showed sensible judgement.

Pryor edges him, don't think Roberto would be truly motivated to fight Aaron.
