coghaugen is a space cadet. as in genuinely unwell bless him. On of the other posters used to work in the facility he was being treated in. hes been banned from several other websites for his obsession with eubank.

I dont care about any of that and wish him good health, but the constant bickering is actually ruining some pretty good threads. could a MOD sort it please?

I agree, I’ll take a step back. I just rise to people when I really shouldn’t.

yeah mate, its pointless. hes not well and will always draw everything back to eubank. a waste of a life debating/squabbling with him.

and i don't mean that disrespectfully, i hope he gets better.

If you believe that then you must believe in the tooth fairy.

Notice that poster referred to this person as ‘Michael’. There’s one man seriously not right in the head here and we can see who that is quite clearly - just read his posts.

Sorry, had to reply, and this is the last time. The only person who ever calls me Michael is my dad when he’s in a bad mood. He’s 70, not bothered about boxing and highly unlikely to be messaging you!

It makes a lot of sense to get back in the ring asap and for many many reasons.
I agree with that. A prospect loses, and then its all about marketing the big "come back", which emphasises the significance of the loss. Arguably makes more sense to just dust yourself down, and keep going. Unless you get knocked out like what Mercer did to Morrison. Then you need a good rest.

If a prospect loses bury it. obviously heal up, then box 4 absolute noones, 2 weeks apart, with no weight cut, dosent matter if they are televised. the casual public are trick-able, then your a prospect coming of 4 wins...

its smoke and mirrors, but i back it. as long as its done quick and slyly. i dont like when someone loses and then there next 4 fights are shit, but 3 months apart, and suposidly adding value to under-cards.

Take Joe Louis losing his 0 vs Schmeling - yes it could be looked at that he got his shot very quickly despite the defeat, but that defeat was still a major major story. Ali vs Frazier 1 was another where there was a mention on the unblemished record.

Obviously the manner of the loss is another factor - take Leonard vs Duran and Hagler's early career losses - in Leonard's it was a narrow defeat against an ATG in which he fought tactically terribly and with Hagler they were controversial - so both bounced back pretty quickly. Whereas Don Curry and Mike Tyson losing their 0 was a much much bigger thing, not just to them personally but how it was percieved in the media / public.

It always has been a big thing, but I really think it was before Sky and linked a lot to firstly Ali ("i can't be beat etc) and Tyson (with the MC's going "undisputed, undefeated Heavyeight champion of the world" and Cus proclaiming that he will go on a long unbeaten run).
Nice post Stu :salut:

I see an undefeated fighter as an unchallenged one.
If a boxer is undefeated, for sure they wanna mouth off about it, the biggest one being Floyd Mayweather who has to shoulder some of the fake mystique around the "0" in this century at least.
A loss shows a lot about who you are, and how you deal with it.
Anthony Joshua is better for his loss. Deyontay Wilder isn't (yet).
As an amateur I had seven consecutive losses, and who knows if it made me better because mum said enough is enough and stopped driving me to competitions :-?
