I cant see Kessler losing barring an injury. I think he stops Beyer in mid to late rounds.

I wonder if they got a feel of each others belts before they kiss them goodbye to Calzaghe hopefully. :TU:

The boxing is on a very small channel. If there are 100K viewers per card its a good card.

Kessler is not that know in Denmark. He has only fourght once of a big channel, vs Craig Cummings, all his other fights have been on either PPV on small-ish channels.

Parken will not even be close to be sold out, their are just having the card their since our best boxing facility can hold 7-8000. I think Team Palle should be thankfull if there will be 15K spectators. Allthough it has been mentioned in the press that only a small part of Parken will be used, so that their can only be 12K spectators

Economical this is both Kessler and Beyer's career high purses. Beyer is getting 1½mill Euro + german TV rights, while Kessler number havent been made public yet (I guess it depends on the danish PPV figures).

The card will be a co-promotion between Palle and Sauerland, so some of Sauerland's other fighters should also be on the card.
Danish PPV? Isn't it possible to see the public german channels everywhere in Denmark?
ARD will be scrambled on cable TV.
Lol. I see that is one way of getting ppv in Denmark but Team Palle better make sure that people know this otherwise there will be no sale of ppv.

It could actually be a boring fight this one, Beyer might try and stay out of trouble and circle and jab all night, but Kessler has a good stick of his own so it could be a mexican stand off, I don't think he will, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that old man beyer will old man his way to a win, but I don't see him getting many favours from the judges with his style against Kesslers more potent shots.

Kessler is a good fighter but Beyer is a veteran who has fought against all styles, Beyer might just pull an upset here. Im still not convinced about Kessler and his ability to defend when attacked he looked very akward many times against Mundine and i think Beyer will give him a lot of trouble.
Beyer by UD or possibly late stoppage.

Beyer is too old to keep up with Kessler. Mundine is a very quick fighter, and he would give pretty much anyone troubles now. He's learned how to fight over the past few years since his loss to Ottke, in which he was rushed. Mundine would beat Beyer if he fought him, and I think the beating Mundine put on Green puts into perspective how good Kessler is.

Beyer had some struggles with Danny, Kessler won pretty well vs Mundine. I can't see Kessler being trouble by Beyer.

Really good thread this one.

Whatever some are saying about Kessler's popularity, he's clearly gained enough interest to raise some excellent debate.

Never mind if Beyer is no longer at his peak. What he has lost in durability and vigour he will have gained in experience. This is still a fabulous match between two very high quality boxers.

The fans are getting some really good matches this year and this is no exception.

It is a brilliant matchup. Beyer is pure class, no matter how anyone tries to downgrade him. He's been underrated, but I dare anyone who sees his clinic over Sheika, his cute boxing against green II, or his 1 punch KO of the undervalued Sanavia - and Sanavia was giving the performance of his career before Beyer stopped him - to say that he's no good.

His lefty stance and ability to throw surprising straight lefts will throw Kessler off. I wouldn't be surprise dif the Dane lost the first few rounds. I do, however, expect MK to find his range, get a rhythm and stop Beyer late. Ppl think Kessler does nothing but jab, but that's not true. When he puts 'em together he's very hard to last with.

Whether it's Kessler or Beyer who wins - they'll probably price themselves out by demanding more than 50.000$ to fight Calzaghe.

Outrageously greedy bastards both of them!

Kessler to win a close one for me on points, Beyer is faded and has been fighting shite lately but he still have experience and is very smart so he can push Kessler close. I reckon Beyer sees this as a big last payday, coming out of the safety zone of cushy WBC defences for a last hurrah, he could do it too but i hope Kessler wins. Calzaghe cannot dismiss Kessler as not well known enough he needs to fight Kessler if he intends to stay at 168 IMO anything else would be second best at SM. A move up to LH seems the most likely scenario.

If Kessler gets his jab working and maintains the sort of pace he did against Mundine (starting slowly and pulling away stronger at the end) he will beat Beyer, i hope he wins anyway.

Beyer has shown he has the goods when he's let out of the safety zone. His promoters threw him in against Woodhall, in England, and he won pretty decisively.

He pays them 50 grand in pounds and I think Warren would obviously cough up more money for proper title fights as he's done it loads.

guess what, he still can box, as he did against Green 2nd time, Sanavia & Sheika. last two guys didn't want to fight him & had flawed endings (ref stopped Colgate for not fighting, and Bika fight was ende dby head clash), doesn't mean he can't box anymore

Sarnavia was dominating the rematch till Beyer pulled out the punch... You won't see Sarnavia ever be a voluntary for Beyer again.

I wonder if Joe will end up being left out in the cold after all..

I read that Andrade was very hard to persuade to step aside as Beyer's mandatory and has a commitment from WBC to be the first defence for the winner. Mundine is Kessler's mandatory and would want to face the winner of that.

Beyer is crafty but I can't see any result other than a Kessler win - either by decision or late rounds stoppage. It does look like Joe might be left out in the the cold though, unless he's willing to take on Mundine or Andrade for the right to fight the winner, or one of them is willing to give up their belts in order to make the fight. Otherwise Kessler is going to have to fight Andrade and/or Mundine before a Calzaghe fight can happen, and that will mean a wait of at least another year...
