For a laugh? I doubt he'd have time to play games

As for Arum and Warren maybe they should get off their arses and try make things happen, they've got 100+ years experience over Hearn, maybe they can do better if they really want fight,

If this fight doesnt happen only a simpleton would blame Joshua and credit Fury, you can lead a horse to water...
:salut:

i also think it would be a lot more painful for fury fans if aj won, then it would be for aj fans if fury won
Why? It's only a boxing match. I get annoyed when York City lose but don't cry about it.

So what if it would. It wouldn't prevent the fight from happening. To be fair, it's hard to tell what's going on from the outside. Fair play to whoever is flying to the Middle East, but we don't know what they're actually doing out there, talking about etc. I don't see how either side couldn't want the fight, what else would they do?

I think it's generally accepted it's an easy night for Tyson. Apart from Sky boys, I haven't heard any boxer, worldwide tip Aj.

It was never a unification anyhow because Can never held a legit world title, it was a great match up nonetheless, looked to be happening then Can decided he wanted to wait until Spring/Summer to see what crowd situation was, Warrington fought Lara in meantime because he hadn't fought in over year, Lara knocked him out so now Josh has rematch, simply put Xu decided not to fight
It's not an obsession. You know it was never a unification. My point is that one man kept selling it as a unification even though it was clear it couldn't be.

To be fair we have been told that both fighters had agreed. Tyson is training in the States in preparation for the fight but the contract appears to be lost in the post.

The fight wasn’t even announced. He signed Warrington and made it clear their plans were to have a unification. A month later and lockdown happened. Time went on and they said their plans to fight Can Xu. They were under the impression that he would be upgraded to Supee champ as Leo Santa Cruz moved up and fought for the lightweight and super feather belts. Even Galahad had to agreed to this to then potentially fight for 2 belts and the Ring assuming Josh won.

For once the WBA didn’t do what a promoter wanted and kept Leo as Super champ, it dragged on so they targeted Xu for the Ring title. However Xu now only wanted to fight in front of a crowd. Galahad got impatient as it looked like he wouldn’t be fighting Xu next so forced the IBF so Josh gave up the belt rather than defend against him and then got badly beat by Lara.

Again, at no point did he announce the fight, just that’s what they were trying to do and it didn’t go to plan.

Would you rather Eddie just said ‘no comment’ whenever he’s asked what the latest is with a fighter?

Yeah - they should just revert to one of the deals that FW or Bob have organised for the fight.

He kept banging on about a unification even after Galahad told him that he wasn't stepping aside.
I don't believe everything that "Eddie says". If that offends you, that's tough.

Did FW or Bob promise a "contract within 24 hours"?

Eddie does exaggerate. It’s one of his selling points. The fight was never announced anyway, but he did the same when Crolla fought Linares. Crolla was WBA champion, Linares was the Diamond champion and he somehow managed to get the Vacant Ring belt on the line too. He called that a unification too.

It's not a "selling point" when the "unification" doesn't happen. Nor is it a "selling point" when the "contract within 24 hours" doesn't happen.

It doesn’t offend me at all. Like I said he didn’t announce anything, said a few times he wanted to do a unification and it didn’t come off. Big deal. Is there a promoter that hasn’t come out and spoken about a fight they’re trying to make that didn’t happen? I’d be amazed if there was one.

No - I’m sure they didn’t. They’ve seemingly just sat back, bitched about it and now Bob’s talking about a 3rd fight with Wilder. Why can’t they come up with an alternative deal for Fury/AJ that could be pushed forward if Eddie doesn’t deliver the Saudi deal.

Eddie’s once again been too optimistic in timelines. A deal like this takes takes an awful lot of time to come together - particularly in a changing coronavirus environment.

Bob's noticed Deontay's finally back in training, had a lol at Wilder's legs and then thought 'There's easy money to be made in a trilogy fight there...then we can take on the bigger risk in an all Brit showdown...'

Joshua should just move on if Fury won’t fight him. No point hanging around any longer, the guy clearly doesn’t want it.

I'm running out of patience with Joshua and Fury, particularly the latter. I'd like to see them both defend their titles against someone easier to negotiate with by early July if the big fight doesn't get sorted this week. I'd rather get two good fights in the short term than waiting until August for the big one.

I'm thinking Joshua-Usyk and Fury-Joyce.
