Bit wierd of Patel to goad him so openily though.
Yeah - I’m surprised Kugan didn’t bite. I would have found it tough not to react.
Patel was loving it. Notice how he looks to his mate every time he mocks Kugan. I have to say I'm converted. I like Patel now and would love it if he beat bellend Sunny Edwards.

He’s nowhere near Sunny’s level.

When Eubank came onto the scene he wasnt very popular.......as Naz faded off the scene he wasnt very popular.

Obviously im not liking Postman Patels boxing skills and achievement to those 2, but when someone brash and different bursts onto the scene and is winning and making a statement, people do tend to get behind them.

Its up to Patel now, If he beat McCann or another 'name' (and its not impossible) then the promoters will be queuing up to sign him. I think he has handled his career quite well so far and levered himself into a position where he cant be ignored. he is honest if nothing else. He likes Umar IFL Umar doesnt he....

There is something a bit compelling about Prince Patel. It's funny to watch the whole thing from when he was getting fired by UK promoters onto his passport stamp years. He is quite articulate here - and he is correct that he does generate youtube views. There's a bit of an emotional vulnerability there. I actually think he's right - he could generate a bit of a buzz. It's a shame he burnt the promoter bridges earlier on. I wish him the best and think he comes across better here.

Yeah he’s not exactly likeable but I found myself admiring him in that video, much more than the big lump he’s talking to, I hope he does well.

I must have watched a different video! I thought he came across as quite delusional (the way he tried to justify some of his opponents being good fighters, the way he talked about facing, and beating, Gonzalez if he were to win the 4 man tournament at Super Fly, and talking like he’s going to be a PpV star.

He drives decent views because die hard fans like us disliked him so much for what he did in the past - particularly with Barry Jones. He’s only known by die hard fans and he’s a bang average fighter.

Yeah to be honest I’ve never seen him fight, just heard about him and assumed he was some sort of joke. Yes he’s delusional in the parts I watched, but so are a lot of boxers; I guess I just admire his perseverance in the face of so many just wishing he’d disappear. Plus taking the piss out of that huge ego interviewing him makes him alright in my book ha ha

i disagree, the fact that he's basically had to fly himself around the world to fight nobodies, almost always without any tv or significant coverage, suggests that he can defo be ignored. most of the comments about him have just been a couple jokes here and there each time someone stumbled across the boxrec schedule and noticed he had another africa/hungry trip planned. do people actually think he's some big internet star lol

but still, fair play to the princee

i dont really get the new bit of love for him, i guess if you buy yourself enough wins in enough countries people will like you eventually? i mean, fair play, but doesnt really make me warm to him lol. and why so sudden, when he's been doing this for years now.

He has always done the look to his mate off camera when saying controversial stuff. I think even in his first video he did that and it didn’t come off well. He came off better in this video, obviously yes he’s saying daft stuff but Conor Benn says he deserves PPV fights now and that to me is almost as daft. Conor was kissing his dad in his first press conference and now gives it the thousand yard stare.

I have to concede if he gets a commonwealth defence against someone like Jay Harris I will be tuning in. Like a lot of British Asian fighters I think he will suffer from lack of British competition. I think he is a natural flyweight and could possibly make weight below flyweight. Usman Ahmed wasn’t a great boxer by any means but I think he may have been someone who could make light flyweight. Who the hell does he fight in the uk down there?

You have to respect anyone that climbs through those ropes. Prince is no exception in that case however, when you scrutinize further and those who he has fought and those who they have fought it becomes clear that there are many many names that either do not exist as genuine boxers or are made up and very doubtful that a fight ever took part.

Prince's last opponent is no exception, just research names and you can come to a logical conclusion that several if not many of those opponents are not real boxers but just one that was plucked out of nowhere or the opponent did not exist.

I'm sure across Africa this happens daily on boxers records purely to get them a fight with a real boxer for a pay cheque.

Now Prince has a title of semi worth (Commonwealth) you never know he may get a fight with a genuine boxer, hopefully from the UK that will give an indication of what we sort of know, how good is the Prince.

I believe though that he will defend against another African boxer who has a decent record but those on it are ghost boxers.

The guy reminds me a bit of a tone downed and better Charlie Z - completely delusional really - I don't think he was joking when he suggested he'd give Joshua a decent fight.

Hes pretty boring to watch, and at the end of the day he hasnt got 1 single win that the average amatuer open novice wouldnt get. He diets well to avoid fighting at bantam, when he was beaten by the salsa guy. Hes also in a weight class where there are only a handful of relevant fighters internationally, fighters at levels he will never be. Hes looking for exposure and obviously frank has fcked him off, matchroom are too big time, and mtk are interested in real fighters. not sure where he goes domestically as a sideshow act?
