Bivol is an exceptional talent... but fornicating hell does he have a 4th or 5h gear?
Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora - 1 May 2021
3-1 Bivol.
Richards doesn't look out of his depth which is something for him.

Yeh you get the feeling Bivol is biding his time hereCoco wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:37Richards is making a credible effort but there is a big difference in level.maverick23 wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:34 Richards is boxing as well as he can I think but I’ve still got him losing the first 2 and Bivol seems to be moving through the gears. I think he’ll stop Richards before the end of the 6th.
The Englishman is keeping his distance, with the jab.
However Bivol is biding his time and I feel he will go through the gears before long

Good effort by the Brit, he’s kept his nerve and is hanging in there as well as you’d hope

Doing OK Richards
Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora - 1 May 2021
Bivol reckons he can make 168 for a Canelo fight. Is Richard's a big light-heavy?
Looks the much bigger man in there.

Always feel like Bivol never quite gets going to his full potential.

In terms of what to expect from the referee and judges, who is the house fighter here ?
it’s probably the Russian isn’t it ? with his looming mega fights and I imagine Eddie has got a hand in there somewhere

Maybe hes not as good as we think

Doing himself a credit here, Richards. Losing but does not looks out of his depth against a very good world champion.
Disgraceful that Ricky Hatton's mediocre son is higher up the card than this.

Bivol doing enough to win every round but not much more in the first half of the fight. Richards' conditioning looks good, he's strong, maybe he will surprise us all and go the distance here

Judges are from UK, Poland and Russia... tbf I don't think even the British judge will have given Richards more than 2MightyWarrior wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:49 In terms of what to expect from the referee and judges, who is the house fighter here ?

I think Bivol is content winning and is waiting for Richards to get more ambitious so the gaps will open

Paul Smith just mentioned about him going to Russia next week, for Liam’s fight.
Hope DAZN pick it up.

Yes but I think the unspoken understanding is that the promotion doesn’t want another upset here, unlikely as it isBoxing Prospect wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:51Judges are from UK, Poland and Russia... tbf I don't think even the British judge will have given Richards more than 2MightyWarrior wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:49 In terms of what to expect from the referee and judges, who is the house fighter here ?

Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora - 1 May 2021
This is the making of Richards, assuming he holds it together for 12 rounds. Quite the step up

Im sure Eddie has a part of Bivol, he will have more money to spend with daz tooBoxing Prospect wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:51Judges are from UK, Poland and Russia... tbf I don't think even the British judge will have given Richards more than 2MightyWarrior wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:49 In terms of what to expect from the referee and judges, who is the house fighter here ?

Bivol is class but I'd rather watch Courtenay vs Bridges.
Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora - 1 May 2021
I’ve been trying to think of what fight this reminds me of. Maybe it’s Golovkin v Jacobs.
Richards is looking sturdy so far.

Exactly the comparison that sprang to mind for me as welldookus wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:50A bit like Howard Eastman's oft-promised extra gearsdr_devious wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:49Fightnight Scores wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 14:47 Always feel like Bivol never quite gets going to his full potential.

Can’t fault Bivol’s skill-set, but he definitely seems to lack that ability to go through the gears and have that bit of spite that all the best fighters have.
